I had a similar idea for the concluding chapter of one of my stories. The wife has been seeing her lover or a series of lovers for a few years. The excitement of the first time cheating is never really replicated. She finds herself getting bored with her extramarital partners and feels arranging their get togethers is no longer worth it.

Meanwhile, she and her husband are spending more and more time together traveling and the like. They decide to renew their vows and she finds herself falling for him all over again. So in a reversal it's basically a cheating wife story with the wife cheating on her lover/s with her husband.

The wife cheats on her husband because he has a tiny penis and erectile dysfunction on top of that. He realizes she is fucking around, so he seeks help. He finds a little herbal shop in Chinatown and they supply him some pills, promising "Ancient Chinese secret!"

But after their first fuck with the new and improved equipment, he tells her that's it, he's leaving her, but he just wanted her to know what she was going to be missing. There's a man in the group that really lights her up and when he calls her for a little afternoon delight she doesn't even hesitate. Just like that, she's gone from ethical non-monogamy to cheating.

But we live in an age of entitlement and she doesn't see the harm. But the husband does when he finds out. Out she goes. She gets her own place, and totally dives down the sexual rabbit hole, enjoying partner after partner, but after a while starts to realize just how empty her life is, when no one is filling her with cock.

Flash back to the present and she drives to her former home just in time to see her soon-to-be ex-husband kissing her best friend.

She follows her friend and accosts her in her driveway. "I didn't steal him, bitch, you threw him away." her ex-best friend says as she walks away.

The wife's world crashes down on her and she's left shattered. She has another couple of meaningless hook ups and that's it.

She begins to rebuild her life and find her self-worth again. She's learned that great sex doesn't replace love and companionship. But its a long hard road.

Yeah the story is really btb, but it can also be a redemption story, maybe she finds someone who's just as shattered as she is and they rebuild each other.
