Bad Times On The Way, Says Obama

Well, golly gee, who could have predicted that? The man must be clairvoyant or sumthin'. (Proves we should never have elected him, right? I mean if he can't just snap his fingers two months before he takes office and make it all go away . . .) :D

Basic Rules For Forecasters:

(1) He who forecasts should learn to eat broken glass ( of crystal balls ),

(2) Never put a date AND a number on the same piece of paper, and

(3) If you're ever right about something, NEVER, EVER let anyone forget it.

Oh man! You mean we elected him and the market's not going to switch back around faster than magical leprechaun shit! Damnit!

Here I was expecting gumdrops and roses to be delivered by unicorn-riding puppies that shit rainbows. That's not going to be happening any time soon?

Of course it's not. We're STILL on the verge of a Global Depression that will make 1929 look like a weekend in Maui. Tough times are on some families and are coming up quick on others. Hell, most of us in my part of the US go to work fully expecting to either hear A) we've been laid off or B) our places of business are shutting down.

It's not so much the Deflation that worries me, it's what will happen when unemployment hits about 12% or so...and still pay the baby-boomers their Social Security benefits...and still pay everyone else for everything else we pay them for. Something's gotta give, and no offense to my dad or his generation, but it's probably going to have to be the minimum retirement age. That or the GI Bill will have to be suspended, or we'll actually have to start collecting money from countries that owe us a buck or two....

Either way, it's going to get dicey. I'm not worried about whether or not I'll be able to buy that shiny new assault rifle or whether my insurance will change. I'm worried about feeding my wife and my two kids.

Frankly, I'm just glad that the man had the nuts to admit it was going to get worse instead of towing the line, "everything is fine...nothing to see here, move along please."

I'm already making less than I was. And our health insurance premiums have tripled.

Worse than that?

Of course, he could be like Bush.

In a personal and wide-ranging interview conducted by his sister about his legacy, his faith and the influence of his father, President George W. Bush said he hopes to be remembered as a liberator of the Iraqi people.

"I'd like to be a president [known] as somebody who liberated 50 million people and helped achieve peace," Bush told his sister, Dorothy Bush Koch, in a conversation recorded for the oral-history organization StoryCorps for the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. . . . Well considering the population of I raq is 24 Million he's a bit short.

But rest assured he will be know as the asshole that backrupted 320 Million!

Bush has been a reincarnation of Truman; thought little of when he loses the presidency, but will be better regarded as the decades go by.

Care to make a wager on that?

Name one good thing he'll be remembered for.

I'll wait.

Ummm to this, I say "No shit, thanks for pointing that out Mr. Obvious. Now, I didn't elect you to tell me things were getting worse, I elected you in the hopes that you can find a way to help solve the problems for the average working Sarah who needs to put food on the table and a roof over her kids heads. Not to tell me what the overpaid TV analysts have been saying for months now."

Disclaimer: I use Sarah instead of "Average Joe" as Joe the Plumber got overused last month.

Kisses to you, my favorite military guy. (My dad's retired.)

You can use Sarah all you wish.
