Are there "bad" stories really? Isn't kind of like the "there's someone for everyone" adage? Something most people would pass off as sophmorific crap, someone may think is truely inspired...crap LOL. Like the guy (or gal) that prefers rough, grainy amature pictures to the glossy, airbrushed professional ones. Just rambling I guess :)

Bad stories are one thing.
Badly told stories another.
Badly written prose a third.
Badly chosen text is a fourth.
Badly written text is a fifth.

I'm not sure the first one exist. That's a matter of aquired taste.
The second one is a story told in a way so that the actual plot is hard to follow, or simply one that doesn't do the job of making the story interrresting.
The third one is when readers have difficulty even making sense of how the simplest stuff happens, when even getting through a paragraph without a "Huh?" is an exception.
The fourth is text with all the wrong, but correct, words, too complicated sentence structures, semicolon masturbation, and so on. You could write a novel in the language of a legal text. But should you?
The fifthth is when tpoys and grammar don't do can't read waht so you job their anythingg.
