Good Morning, Sparky.

Thought I'd stop in and visit you in this prison of your own design. (I have one too, my office) I've gotta brief myself on this gig I got Friday and Saturday, I used to play guitar with this band, so I know the songs, but not on bass. It's mostly seventies stuff, Jethro, Kiss, Doors, Nazareth, Deep Purple, fun stuff. I've also got a ton of "real" work I've gotta get done so I won't be hanging around today. Have a good one.

PH have a good couple of gigs - break both legs. Aqualung my friend....... Oh yeah - attempt one song, on the bass, a simpler one, one with a simple line - "with only yer fingers - no pick," just to see if you can hack it.

CL - yeah Hef be Hef - and his time is fading fast. I don't know about that Playboy Philosophy thing - I mean I know of it - but it was before my time - actually my dad's time. I'm too much into the psyche of women to harbor any thoughts like Hugh and his followers lived their lives by.

As for Rudy - it's really a kind of love/hate for me regarding him - lately mostly hate. His way conservative ideas on art really piss me off. I find it hard to beleive that anyone thinks the way he apparently does - I often wonder if he's grandstanding/pandering for votes - but - he's done, he's outta there - so no.

We had a show with the Yo Mama creator and the head of the Catholic League the other day - fun show - they ended up yelling at each other most of the time.

I just pretty much against censorship of any kind. Where do you draw the line - everybodies is different - so why have one? Police yerself - ya know?

I hope you didn't take offense at any of my comments. I think you've got an interesting idea going here. Just thought it might be a step too far to expect that those people interested in other threads would look in here to see what you think of any of those topics... you know what I mean? Cool that you're doing an "all encompassing, lets talk about everything, welcome to my home" kind of deal here - but you might want to venture out every now and then into the bigger world and see what there is to see. I'm sure you've got things to say that other's would like to hear within their own "environments"...

I can relate to that... the BB is taking up more of my time than I should really allow... its very addicting!

Your idea actually touches on something that is inbetween a bulletin board and chat. Many many years ago, before java based chat, in the early days of the web (after the arpanet/telnet period) chat was completely web based. An outgrowth of news servers and bulletin boards with a web based GUI front end. There are still a number of chat sites around like this. One of the earliest, which is still around though redesigned several times, was Bianca's Shack - http://www.bianca.com/ --- 9, 10 years ago it was pretty much the only game in town for "adult" chat.

I know I'm rambling - but there actually is a point. Bianca's along with my long time favorite, State of Insanity ( http://soi.hyperchat.com where I'm a founding member - have an approach to chat that eliminates what many of the BB regulars complain about as the major fault to chat. The meaningless innoculous inundation of unending streams of "hello," "hi, want to fuck," "my dick is HUGE, you must worship me." that pervades many other rt java-based chat services.

These sites look a lot like a BB... except there are rooms instead of topics. You pick a room and post your message, hold conversations, flirt, discuss any topic you want... etc... etc..

This is pretty much what you are doing here in your thread which is now, in essense, your room! However the technical workings of the sites designed around this concept better support what you're trying to do than this thread in the BB does.

Rooms can be on a specific topic or be a community of folks who regularly gather, day in and day out. The second type is my favorite kind of room. Where you get together daily (or as your schedule allows) with a core group of people who pretty much remain the same - some come and go, new ones join - but... you get the idea.

I wonder if Laurel and Manu might be willing someday to set up a similar area for Literotica - where those who want to hold an ongoing conversation in near real time, but who hate chat, can frequent?

Chat = rt interaction - many people talking at once

Web Chat = rt interaction - one post at a time with the BB type ability to review and respond to past posts

BB = topic based bulletin boards with the ongoing ability to continue a discussion over the long term
