Effective June 6th 2000 at 12:00am Midnight
the Punk Rock Group Another State of Mind has officially called quits.
After 4 years together the stress of having to put together new material has taken its toll.
Things had never been the same since the death of Tom Sweet, the Original Bassist in the band, who died in 1998 of complications from Heroin and Crystal Meth use.
There have been 3 replacement bassists since that time.
Also another factor in the decsicion was to
work more twords the presuit of the professional carreers of the band memebers. Mainly Shon's (Lead vocals and Lead Guitar) as a Computer Networking Professional.
Also with his self admittance into Drug Detox on June 5th 2000 was another factor.
So therefore all the shows for the 2000 Tour have been canceled. if you have tickets the Venues will refund your money.

The band would like to thank all of the fans and everyone who has supported them in the past 4 years.
The album will still be released August 1 2000 on Timebomb Recordings.

I don't know you but wish you the very, very best of luck. One of my best, lifelong friends is a recovering alcoholic. He has been in recovery for about 15 years (since we were about 18). We all loved each other but partied way too much and he needed some extra help getting away from the booze and drugs and "us" until he was stronger. He now has a great career, a beautiful wife and two beautiful daughters and is doing very well.
My father just died from cancer after a life of drug and alcohol abuse. My grandmother died of "complications relating to alcoholism." I have fought the addictive tendencies in my personality and these extreme cases in my family have given me good examples of what not to do. My father and grandmother never admitted their addictions and never went into rehab. My friend did and his life is complete and full. Most importantly, he still has one.
Shon, you have admitted your problem and if you believe in yourself and maintain a good and loving support system you will have a great chance for success. I will be thinking about you and wishing you the best.
