Haven't felt too good today. So I decided to indulge in a really really bad movie fest. To this end I borrowed some absolutely awful horror movies from a friend.

Evil Dead
Evil Dead II
Demons

So far.

If this stuff dosen't rot your brain I don't know what will, but if you ever find yourself alone on a rainy day and not feeling well, I highly reccomend a bad movie day.

Anyone have any they would like to add to the list?

What, no "Army of Darkness"? That's the final part of the Evil Dead trilogy. Even though most people think it's the best of the bunch, if you're going to subject yourself to the others, you might as well watch all of them. <g>

very good point remec. you definitely can't watch the 2 evil deads without watching army of darkness

if you want bad action fliks

waterworld
johnny mnemonic
and most anything by Van Damme or Steven Seagal

how old do the movies have to be? does it matter?

"Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" or "Mars Attacks" were pretty bad but these were deliberately bad, just to be campy. For something that was not meant to be bad, maybe "Teenagers from Outer Space". This combined two threads, Sci-Fi schlock and juvenile delinquency movies that were around in the late fifties. It wasn'r planned that way but it was so bad it was funny, which made it rather good. Some of the movies where Godzilla duked it out with various other menaces might fit also if you like that sort of thing.

Army of Darkness is so much a spoof. But it was meant to be abd :)

Any movie with stallone in it... i keep looking for the pull string at his back and waiting for his waxy face to melt. If i knew it was going to happen i would sit through one of his movies.

What? No "Santa Claus Defeats the Aliens"????

:D

:) I've never seen Santa Clause defeating the aliens but I have seen "How Earnest Saved Christmas", which is probably just as silly. Actually, it was pretty funny.:D

I dont think I have seen "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" yet ... but "Mars Attacks" is hilarious ... I love that movie.

As for bad movies ... two pretty recent ones:

Dare Devil
The League of extraordinary Gentleman

Sheesh .. both were pretty bad.

The original Rocky was a great little sleeper film. That was before Stallone fell in love with Stallone.

So Bad It's Good: I second Mars Attacks, if only for Jack Nicholson's turn as the president of the United States. ("Can't we all just get along?")

:D

Also SBIG:

Volcano, with Tommy Lee Jones and a pre-alien-voices Anne Heche, attempting to save Beverly Hills from lava. Salvaging art masterpieces, two museum workers are loading Garden of Earthly Delights into a truck. "Man, this Hieronymous Bosch is heavy," says one. His companion agrees. "His primary theme is man's pursuit of the pleasures of the flesh in defiance of God's will." "No, it's just heavy."

Where the Boys Are. The landmark film that introduced George Hamilton's tan and spring break beach trips. Yvette Mimeux, the "bad" college girl who wore a two-piece in hopes of meeting an Ivy League man, has been hospitalized following implied nonconsent ravishment. She regains consciousness long enough to whisper, "They weren't even Yalies."

Hmmmmm, Bad movies. Okay here's a few.
Gates of Hell was truly bad.
Gattaca was terrible.
StarShip Troopers 2 was even worse.
Any of the Halloween Movies after the first were terrible. (Not to mention boring.)
Most of the porn movies from the Eighties and Nineties.
But for a truly tasteless, non artistic, No redeeming qualities movie you have got to watch "The rocky Horror Picture show." It was so bad it was great.

This is not a bad movie. It's a terrific movie about the making of a bad movie, and it tops a list I call, "My Favorite Movies That No One Else Has Ever Seen."

American Movie, a documentary about a Wisconsin stoner attempting to make a horror film on a Visa-card budget, with the help of friends, family, and the town actor.

If you never believe another word this porn reader says, you must believe that American Movie is a funny, poignant and semi-inspiring exploration of the creative urge, featuring a lovable loser who might achieve his dream if he ever gets out of his own way.

Most disconcerting scene: his 5-year-old, asked to name her favorite movie, lisps, "Apoc-a-wipse Now," then giggles and mutters, "The horror...The horror..."

I was going to say "Bring it On" but then I figured I knew it was a chick flick...really my fault for actually going to see it. But there ARE some decent chick flicks out there...and I was so hoping...

Well, anyway. Since as a rule, chickflicks are generally bad, guess its pointless to mention them.

But these...

The fast and the furious

Gone in sixty seconds

Too fast too furious

XXX

Collateral Damage

Those simply have no excuse!

Oh ya...almost forgot my least favorite movie of all time: Vanilla Sky! Although anything with Tom Cruise is likely to be bad.

P.S.

I loved Daredevil!

Colleen? You should really read the graphic novel then. It was much, much better than the movie. Which kinda blew chunks in my opinion.

Every panel in the graphic novel had at least one reference to Victorian literature. Usually more. It was a really nice piece of work.

Best of all, it was Mina who was leader of The League, not Quartermain like in the movie.

Oh, bad movies.

Movies regarded as bad, that I liked:

Real Genius. "Welcome to Pacific Tech Smart People On Ice!"

Buckaroo Banzai - Across The 8th Dimension. "It's not my planet, monkeyboy!"

Cast A Deadly Spell. Kinda like Who Framed Roger Rabbit. But rather than being about a hard boiled detective in L.A. in the 40s and toons are real, it's about a hard boiled detective in L.A. in the 40s and magic is real. The detective's name is Harry Lovecraft. ;)

Please. The name of the movie was "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" and featured Jaimie Farr and a very young Pia Zadorra.

Give credit where credit's due.

Personally, I caught a part of "A Streecar Named Desire" not long ago, the one that made Marlon Brando famous, and was shocked at how awful it was. What a fucking ham!

Robot Monster: one of the worst things ever done on film. An alien robot monster falls in lust with a human woman and expects her to like him depsite the fact he's just finished killing virtually every human being on Earth. It also has the most extraordinary bondage scene ever shot.

Immortal line: "To be hu-man! To think, act, feel like the hu-man!"

Ed Wood's Plan 9 From Outer Space: Aliens animate the dead to tell humans to stop developing weapons of mass destruction. But of course the zombies can't talk. This one has Bela Lugosi's famous post-mortum performance, since the movie was made after he died and Wood still managed to make him the star.

Immortal line: "You are all stupid! Stupid!"

And since this is a sex site, let's not forget Ed Wood's classic Glen or Glenda, with Wood himself playing the transvestite struggling for acceptance.

Immortal line: "Ze strings! Pull on ze strings!"

I'd have to recommend a John Waters-fest meself. But then again, I'm a bit odd...

- Mindy, who can recount both Hairspray and (especially) Cry Baby word for word :D

Can I add "Dead Alive"..
One of the goriest (sp?) movies ever.. but very funny. Also great clay animation, like in Evil dead.

How can you call the Evil Dead series awful? You can get together with your freinds, grab a few drinks and have a blast with those films. Anything that brings that much entertainment can't be called awful. Same goes for the Ed Wood movies.
Ghost Ship. now there's a truly bad movie. Bruce Almighty. Tomb Raider. Cruel Intentions.
