hello everyone

missed you lot ... i really did :) ... had just the most fantastic holiday ever ... nearly got charged and killed by an elephant and nearly got eaten by a lion lol (im not joking) ... and a hippo didn't seem to happy with me either ... i have loads of stories to tell but am quite tired been on 12 hour flight and not slept all night got home about 3 hours ago

saw all of the big 5 animals ... they are called that because they are the 5 animal types that could kill you (didn't know that until guide told us :)) ... water buffalo (very aggressive and will charge) elephant (can charge) leopard/lion (leopard not likely to be dangerous and most seen at night lions can be dangerous) hippo (can be very aggressive) and black/white rhino (white rhinos are ok and can be scared away black rhino will charge and run after you difficult to scare away :)) ... the guide told us this click click noise to make if we saw one of the animals before he did (unlikely he was super cool) because he said all of the big five animals cant hear that noise well except the black rhino but he said the black rhino will know you're there before you do anyway he said there's nothing you can do about the black rhino (i think the black rhino is the one to be afraid of most lol)

we did have to put the click click noise to the test one time ... was on a hike with the guide in st lucia wetland park and lisa saw a leopard she did that click click noise and pointed and i saw it ... it was very rare to see it during the day it was just about 20 feet to the side of us walking thru the trees as if it never even knew we were there i was looking at it and then suddenly both lisa and i realized the guide hadn't heard the click click noise lisa did and the group were walking a head of us (was only 4 others in group) so lisa and i tried to do the click click noise louder and louder so that the guide would stop and hear lol it was actually kind of scary and exciting at the same time ... eventually the guide heard after we'd been making this noise and we just both pointed as the leopard walked thru and out of sight it was very cool

another time we saw a rhino ahead of us this was on the same walk but it was walking ahead of us and downwind so he couldn't smell us and we were walking after it and it kept walking ahead past next trees or next ridge ... i was thinking what if this is a black rhino should we be trying to catch up :) ... we didn't say anything because you're meant to keep quiet so not to scare it and it didn't know we were there ... anyway we caught up with it eventually and it kind of sniffed the air like it had caught a whiff of us but he didn't know where we were ... it was a white rhino and wow it was huge and powerful and amazing ... then he saw us and was about 50 feet away he started to come towards us ... the guide hadn't said anything he said before the hike that he might warn us to get behind a tree and if he does we should do it without asking why ... he had a gun and he was reaching for it so this made us slightly nervous rhino was still coming but not running looked like it might though ... anyway the guide picked up a big hunk of wood and threw it at the rhino ... and the rhino turned and run and the wood hit him on the backside lol it was quite impressive ... but made me wonder why he had the gun ... im glad he didn't have to fire the gun though

we also went to umfolozi park which is where we saw lions and have a few cool stories to tell about an encounter with a hippo while on horse back and also an elephant charging (the most scary and exciting thing i've ever felt) anyway i'll tell all those stories later if people want to know

the holiday was just great and the wedding was beautiful lucky enough it didn't rain because it was outside ... the hotel we stayed in for the wedding was just wonderful and really really cheap for a 5 star hotel ... i recommend the holiday to everyone

and yes we did have sex in africa :D ... its nice to be home ... i hope everyone is good here ... have i missed much ? ... i'll have a look about here either now or later

I want more, more, more... :D

If that was the "too tired to tell" version, I can't wait to hear the whole story!;)
I'm glad to hear you had such a wonderful time.

SIN you always think you're winning :)

debbie i have 5 films that need to be developed im not going to let myself put off getting them done either :) ... will try and get a couple of them scanned or something

caroline i know i know i got carried away lol

thanks jersey boy i did actually think of lit and people here a few times ... i guess that's pretty sad but kinda sweet also :)

lord magic guy you can do it :) the flight was fairly expensive but when out there everything is just so cheap ÂŁ6 for a 5 star 4 course meal

broken brainwave naughty man ... your ivory is where it belongs still attached to an elephant :)

bratcat thanks and i know i saw that thread ... i must be so awful to make never feel bad like that :( ... i have to think of a special way to make it up to her

i did sleep a couple of hours i think but to excited i guess to sleep heavy ... things i haven't told you yet ... was riding horse back thru the umfolozi park and coming across a hippo that was looking like it might charge stomping its feet and making noises at us and our guide saying its 50/50 if it charges or not but dont worry because they can only charge for about 80 feet and we're about 100 feet away ... yeah like that's reassuring especially since it was the first time i've been on a horse since i was about 7 :)

another one was an elephant did charge us which afterward the guide said was pretty unusual we were standing on this quite tall ridge though so the guide said dont worry it cant get us stay still ... a few people found that hard to do though with a 10 ton elephant charging towards them and started to back away the guide shouted them to stay put i think he would of shot them if they didn't lol ... lisa and i just stood still we were to much in awe of its power and beauty i didn't even feel scared although i did grip lisa's hand pretty tight :) ... the guide did get a bit tense though when the elephant changed direction slightly and went to go up the lower side of the ridge we were standing on ... the guide fired his gun in air and elephant backed off ... it was a quite big party though and there were other guide people that had guns ... he said to one of them im glad that didn't end badly ... i think they would of shot the elephant if it kept coming :( ... it did get very very close though within about 10 feet its head just seemed to fill the whole sky ... elephants move very very fast when they are charging towards you much faster than what the rhino did when we were in st lucia wetland park ... anyway that was the best bit of the whole trip i think :)

we only saw lions in the distance but that was good also ... we did hear them though and that was pretty amazing ... one time at night we were in tents and we heard some lions in the distance and it was very cool but they sounded so far away we weren't scared or anything ... in the morning the guide asked us if we heard the lions and we said yes ... he said they came just over near some trees which was very close to the camp site ... lol we had no idea they came that close we went on two safaris really but only camped out in the bush in umfolozi park

edited to say see this is what i mean when i say i have an illness for using to many smilies

Welcome back, sexy-girl!

Never has missed you terribly. I think you should send her a PM.

i think that the elephant tried to kill me because of you broken ... elephants never forget and it was probably logged onto lit and saw you ask for ivory and took SIN's advice in a preemptive strike :)

lol patient i already have sent her a pm so there :p ... but thanks its good to be back ... i missed never also i hope i see her on lit today or soon :(

Wow! I've been charged by a black rhino too...it gored our vehicle with it's horn! Scary stuff.

I'm glad you're back safe and sound and full of smiles and stories. I'll be waiting to hear more!

thank you sweet cherry and rambling rose

we actualy only saw a black rhino from quite far away in distance could tell the difference still though between it and a white rhino ... what the white rhino did was pretty scary im sure if the black rhino had charged us like that it wouldnt of been scared off by a hunk of wood :)
