Back and out...

Before my son went to the Gulf War he talked to me about my experiences in Vietnam (just as I talked to an old man who fought in the Pacific during WW2). His mother was livid cuz he didnt include her. Modern female.

So I said to her, EXACTLY WHAT DID YOU PLAN TO CONTRIBUTE TO HIS UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT WAR IS LIKE? Nuthin, more than likely, as her fund of war experience is empty.

And so it is with males who wanna play girl. They share damn little of what most females have in common. They believe that tits and no weener define females. So its CAHAB who's cramming girls into a small box.

JBJ - I wasn't talking about your offense to cahab, but your offense to women. They're not all graceful, you know, and it doesn't make them any less a woman.

As for cahab, he is what he is and what he socially makes himself. In India, the role is clearly defined (though not universally appreciated), and the Hijras have significant duties in rituals and are to take possession of any child born truly hermphroditic. The berdache in Plains Indians Tribes was also a defined transvestite role, and a role revealed to a boy on his vision quest. To see Double Woman was as respected a vision as any other.

And yes, JBJ, I do make a distinction between sex and gender; gender is the role you play, not your innate biology.

jimmy, in 10,000 years sure, your bones will show you were male-- but right now you eat dogshit every day. Doesn't seem like a fair exchange to me. But you have something to look forward to.

He can't even count on that, Stella. Except for the post-pubescent pelvis, sex markers in the skeleton show tremendous overlap. Without the hip, often the best I can assess is a 60% probability one way or the other.

People who wanna change their sex are confused about the correct way to feel female. You cant feel female with silk drawers on your ass, you feel female with silk drawers on a woman's ass.

Spare me the lecture about the appeal of ugly women. No one buys it, especially ugly women.

As I said, Jimmy, you're addicted to stereotypes...I wasn't even talking about a woman's looks. And the appeal of an ugly woman? Sorry, no idea what you're talking about. Though I must say, when I worked on the fishing boats out of Fulton Market, there were only two kinds of women in Rosie's Bar when our trip was over: those who said "no" and those who said "yes."

And, I'm afraid, old boy, that the "correct" way to feel female (or male) is mostly learned, and has little to do with your silk drawers.

I'm laughing at you NOT with you. What a dum fuck you are.

Good morning, Cahab. Hope your weekend was great!

What's your opinion on pronouns? Do you prefer to be referred to as "she" or "he?"

Ever since I saw this thread, I've been scouring the internet for Drag King and Queen shows. There is something called Kings For A Cause and they are sponsoring a Drag King performance up in Portland in August. I can't find where they have announced their charities for this year yet, but I have offered to donate a story as a raffle prize for them and the hubby and I are hoping to attend the show.

On a side note, hubby is NOT interested in seeing me dress in drag. He has no problem with anyone ELSE doing it and is looking forward to going to the show. He just doesn't want to see ME dressed that way. He says it would bother him. I respect him enough to honor his wishes so I will be attending the show in feminine, sexy attire. :) However, I'll be the lady waving dollar bills and making out with any of the drag kings who are into such things. :D

P.S. Stella, I'm interested in your thoughts on this as well. :)

If I were up on that stage I'd be waving for your money ;)
But actually, I can't approach Drag Kinging lightheartedly. It's not fun for me. It's like... putting on a mask of being what you already are. Or something. I think women who don't have gender issues have an easier time of it. I do feel like a drag queen whenever I have ever worn a dress-- including at my wedding...

When I talked to my family about this, my spouse pointed out that being crossed, genderwise, was one of the first things I told him-- thirty years ago.

Mostly, a good sense of the absurd has kept me sane.

Hey, Jimbo! Sorry to be such a dum [sic] fuck, you fucking sick dummy; I didn't know you were laughing at me. Didn't think you were laughing with me, either. In fact, I didn't think you were laughing at all; I considered any sense of humour far beyond the narrow limits of your impovershed imagination.

But at least now I know you don't take yourself any more seriously than do the rest of us. Keep having fun playing that one and only tune you know; it sure beats learning anything.

It's awesome that your spouse is so accepting. But then, it's always good to be upfront. They can't say they weren't warned! LOL

I don't have gender identity issues. I'm happy being female. And I'd be happy with the mask for fun and BOY would it ever turn me on! I can see how you wouldn't be though, that makes sense. Nothing is easy, though, is it? I can never understand how it truly feels to be in the wrong body, so to speak. What you and Cahab have gone through, what countless other transgendered people have had to deal with...it breaks my heart. It's not a choice because if it was, no one would wake up one morning and say "Today, I think I will put myself out there for public ridicule (by the closed-minded homophobes), try to find a way to be UNCOMFORTABLE in my own skin, and then, just for fun, start on a cycle of hormone therapy which will make me feel even WORSE until it's regulated, all the while getting little or no support from those around me who can't possibly understand" No one would make that choice!

And don't forget, sanity is highly overrated! :D

I'll stipulate that I'm whatever you wanna call me, AND CAHAB WILL NEVER BE A FEMALE. Never-ever. STELLA will never be a male. No way, Jose. 10,000 years from now some perfesser will excavate their bones, mark CAHAB 'male' and STELLA 'female.' All it is is charades.

The answer to non-sense such as this is, "More man than you will ever be and more woman than you will ever have."

STELLA, sigh, youll never be a guy cuz you have no sense of humor and none of the divine innocence all men are born with. Every woman you encounter will assess you and think, FRAUD.

heh-- I'll be getting laid while jimmy sits down to yet another meal of canine merde.
