Well, I went in to the doctors, and he checked me. I still have not dialated past 1. This rather bothers me, because with both my older two, I showed a 1 dilation for no more then a week before having the babies. Before that, no dilation at all. This one started, and decided that home is where mom is.

Friday morning, December 28th, at 6:30am, I am being induced. It was my option, as he said we could wait till next week, and do it then, but I don't want to wait much longer, and since it is harder and harder to sleep at night (my hands go completly numb, and my bones start to hurt like you wouldn't believe) and since the baby is full term, then it can't hurt to help it along abit.

I have talked with a few people who have induced, and several had more painful contractions from the drugs. What we are doing on Friday, is having small doses of Pitocin administered until I dialate to around 4 or 5, and then, it is natural. Well, natural with pain killers. He also usually breaks the water if they have not ruptured on thier own by around noon-ish, or dialated to about a 4. He said that usually speeds things along nicely.

So, tomorrow night, I will be going to bed at an ungodly hour, because I have to be there at an hour I never even knew exsisted!

Good Luck Gilly.

I remeber my brothers girlfriends first child.
whe was in labour (actualy labour) for 8 days, so in the end they had to force it. she came through it okay.

and i'm betting you and the baby will to.

(by the way we never did get that belly pic ;))

It's a baby day

<smile> My thoughts will be with you, Gilly...it is almost over.

Good luck, Gilly.

My sister had Pitocin and it worked very quickly. She asked for the epidural and they couldn't get it done she was ready to push. If you're sensitive to drugs at all, warn them and then ask for drugs as soon as the Pitocin starts.

I'm not clamoring for baby belly pics, but baby pics to oooh and aahhh over would be nice.

Yayyy. Good for you, Gilly. The waiting is the hardest part....

Tom Petty ringing in my ears.

I was induced for both children. Like any labor, you don't remember the pain as the days wear on and it is certainly better than a c section. (I had one of those, too.)

You will be fine and I hope you and the baby are happy and healthy and ready to ring in the New Year!

Hugs

I was induced for both my younger two and it was no problem at all. Mind you...they had me hooked up to the IV for my son and then they tried that cervix cream....then after 4 days, they sent me home for a night in my own bed...went back and they had me hooked to IV with that cream put on daily and STILL the lil booger wouldn't emerge...so the doc broke my water...my son still chose to hold off and make me push for 3 solid hours...damn brat!

Then with my daughter...they had the IV hooked up...nuttin...but at 6pm that night, the doc broke the water...and a few hours later the final edition was born...at 23:23 on 3/23...kinda cool huh?

The pain factor was negligible, tho. I didn't have an epidural for either one...I had demerol for the first one, but that made me puke...so for the second one, I just went with the nitrous... gotta love the nitrous! ;)

Good luck, Gilly...:)

Good luck there Gilly, hope to have ya back soon!

Good luck Gilly Bean and baby bump :) Can't wait to see you

Good Luck, Gilly!

I hope it goes easy for you, my thoughts will be with ya! :)

Good luck Gilly!!!!

I was induced with my last child because I was too ill to wait any longer for the kind of medicine that would help me. I had my first contraction at 11am and had her two hours later! Hope it goes just as easy for you:)

Good Luck Gilly and hope all goes well. Maybe you will get lucky and won't have to be "induced"?!?!?!?!?!

In any event, hope all goes well either way. :)

Wow! Congratulations! No worries on being induced, my mom was induced because I refused to come out. She was more than thankful. She couldn't even fit behind the steering wheel.

I know you're probably already on your way to the hospital but just wanted to post to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Best of luck to you and the little one. :)
