I was chatting with a good friend about egocentric posting. I have always know that I am an attention whore. This became clearer when I noted how I, like Sco...urerr..ies, check how many views I get on my thread. How I am starved for feed back.

It is still my contention that we are all here for some sort of attention and/or acknowledgment... validation. Either by stories and or our posts.

When I'm writing I'm not being a public nuisance (except to the AH).

I've officially retired from performing as Henry VIII. My replacement was so stricken with stage fright that his "wife" had to hold his hand to stop it shaking and his cake-on-head nearly fell off.

He was lucky this time. He wasn't asked to walk around the town in costume publicising the event to bemused shoppers and tourists.

How do you explain that you aren't a certifiable nutcase when dressed in pantyhose, a skirted costume and wearing a cake on your head? If you're me you just do it, alone and unescorted. My predecessor had to have an escort of Yeomen of the Guard. Og, of course, could convey a royal presence without needing a posse of security people. I took the hysterical laughter as ample tribute to my talented acting...

I wonder what reception I'd get as Henry VIII at a Republican convention? or even at a Democrat one?
