No it wouldn't have. As I thought, I would have to explain the joke. Mesopotamia was located in the heart (Meso - middle - potamia - rivers -- specifically the Tigris and Euphrates) of present-day Iraq.

"There's a lot of ruins in Mesopotamia" - you know, like Saddam's palaces, for instance.

I warned y'all in another thread that I ruin jokes by explaining them.

If you knew all that and you still think "Love Shack" is funnier then I just don't like your sense of humor :-þ
