Ayn Rand sat up in her grave today...

Aw, schucks, Selena, I forgive you, no apology necessary, but it does confirm that my, ahm, analogy, metaphor, was vivid enough to elicit response, a writer always likes to hear that!:)

(and it be a lil funny, sit up...ouch! Damned Liberals!)

The ragheads are jacking up the price of oil. The price of crude is up about $10 a barrel.

It's their oil.

But it does seem like an unnecessary provocation and stressor for the American and World economies.

Raghead beaurocrats at the trough when crude was around $140.00 per barrel are not happy with prices where they are now. It had to happen sooner or later.

We, the US, will be subject to that kind of economic bribery until we can eliminate government restrictions on the energy industry.

An easy enough thing to accomplish...just quit taxing them to death and allow them to work....but that is so simple, I think I will not hold my breath until it happens...

WASHINGTON, March 10 (Xinhua) --
One in 50 U.S. children is homeless, according to a report released here on Tuesday.

The study conducted by the National Center on Family Homelessness estimates more than 1.5 million children, or 2 percent of the total, are without a home, based on data from 2005-06.

"The number will grow as home foreclosures continue to rise," Ellen Bassuk, president of the center, said in a statement.

Among other shocking findings, the study also shows 42 percent of homeless children are younger than 6 while most homeless children will not graduate from high school.

"The consequences to our society will play out for decades," Bassuk said. "As we bail out the rest of our nation, it is also time to come to their aid."

The study also offers policy recommendations for the government to address the issue, such as ensuring that children's schooling is not interrupted when they lose homes, and providing services to address the trauma of homelessness.

This piece was serendipitous in a small way, as the 'one and a half million', street kids, is the basis for my very long novel about the youth of the nation revolting and overthrowing government.

I need to hurry and finish that before fiction becomes fact.:)
