Democrats are quickly becoming “the party of upscale voters,” while Republicans set their sights on a populist “multiracial coalition of working-class voters,” Axios details.

In a “seismic” political realignment, according to Axios ,which cited a New York Times/Siena College Poll, Democrats are now most favored by white college-educated Americans as Republicans are increasingly favored by the nation’s non-college-educated voters and Hispanic Americans.

The realignment has become increasingly clear as former President Trump has massively bolstered the GOP’s support among working and middle class Americans with an economic nationalist agenda encompassing tighter labor markets, reshoring manufacturing, reducing immigration, and a restrained foreign policy.

Yeah it’s been flipping over the past decade or two…. Increasingly, the Dems are better educated, have better jobs, make more money and believe in progress. ( their liberal agenda has lifted people up)

The Hawks running the death industries need lots of stupid poor sheep to sell their violent, backward looking world to. ( keep the masses down n dumb)

Progress or Regress?
Advancement or Decline?

Easy choices, really.

As if Axios is an entity worth quoting. 🙄
It was the source that released the poll and it also contains the actual poll in PDF format.

In the land of opinion pieces, having the source data is essential to transparency and freedom to interpret data differently.

Most of the Republicans here sound working class.

Someone has to take out the garbage, amiright?

This is not new. The Republicans have been running on class resentment at least since Reagan. At least. It's a neat trick: appeal to their bigotries, keep their votes even as you advocate for economic policies that screw them.

Most Republicans here are unemployed and/or unemployable, dependent upon their spouses and/or Uncle Sugar to bring home the bacon. This gives them the time needed to shitpost and/or binge watch Fox 'n Friends.

This is the case in UK (Labour) and many EU countries. Mexico too, with the PRI.
The "working man's party" becomes the party of billionaire elites. They use the mask of unions to keep their working class roots alive and relevant.
