CHICAGO (Reuters) - The 81-year-old father of Sen. Norm Coleman (news, bio, voting record), has been cited for lewd and disorderly conduct after he was found engaged in a sex act with a 38-year-old woman while parked outside a Minnesota pizza parlor, police said on Thursday.


The Minnesota Republican lawmaker issued a statement saying he does not condone his father's actions or behaviour. "I am deeply disturbed by what I have learnt. He clearly has some issues that need to be dealt with, and I will encourage him to seek the necessary help," the statement said.

The incident involving Norman Coleman Sr. and Patrizia Schrag, 38, who was also cited, took place Tuesday night in St. Paul, according to a police spokesman. The charges against the pair are misdemeanors.
