There seem to be a few of us that would like to make some nominations for which there are no catagories:

Audio Stories

Best Role Play Thread

Best Role Play Writer

Best Pet Picture

Best Flirt

These come to mind, but we may also want to include silliest thread, best troll hunter, and most ambiguous. I'm sure that there are others.

goodluck HSWriter seems to have a vested interest in what catergories get nominated for. probably only yhe catergories that HSWriter has a probable victory in, any other would take away from the glory of victory.

maybe, maybe not just spuring on the vast center conspiracy.

I kinda agree here. HSWriter seems to do only what s/he wants to? ~sigh~ C'est la vie.

'Xuse me folks, last time I checked, this is OUR BB, who says we have to wait for HSWriter? He/She/It doesn't want to listen to the voice of this board (audio stories come to mind), to hell with 'em.

Now granted, these won't be "official" awards, but do any of us really care?

Who are you callin' center Bobert? Left, right anything but the middle.

Best Erotic Rola Play scene -

Samuari (Archie McGillicutty)

Best BDSM Role Play scene -

Renegade (Halloween Party)

Best Daisy Chain -

The Homecoming

FYI

HS is a 19 year old boy, so the he pronoun is appropriate. Boy is my estimation, anyone with that much of a fixation on Brntyny Spleens has got to be either a boy, pedo, or dirty old man (no fense WH).

However, allowances ought be made. HS is a college puke and has therefore been subjected to those final thingerbobbies and probably some sort of ritualized familial gathering due to holidays. I say give the boy the benefit of the doubt.

I'm sure he's not ignoring us and the power trip hasn't gone to his head, despite his regretable tendency to delete posts on the nominations board. Real life has, no doubt, reared its ugly head and he got Brntyr splares tickets for christmas.

Benefit of a doubt? Jesus got no benefit of a doubt. "Crucify Him" they cried, the voices of the vast center wing conspiracy.

I never knew that Jesus was actually a mediocre porn author fixated on Btynry Splores. Wow. Learn something new everyday. Does Jerry Fallwell actually fall well? Or does he fall badly and doesn't want to tell us? Would he be effective if he were known as Jerry Fallbadly? Would you be a part of the religious right if your great leader was Jerry Fallbadly?

I nominate Kepic as the most industrious thread starter. He has good ideas.

I nominate Shila as the most inane threadstarter. Sorry Ambro, but you aren't even in her league.

Now, let's not be overly nasty to HSWriter. He is a volunteer. Laurel appointed him. Maybe he's really busy. It is, remember, a very busy time of year for many of us.

I'll admit I'm miffed that he didn't deign to reply to my suggestions regarding the awards. It seems to me that discussion with the members before or during the nominations would have gone a long way in helping people feel that their opinions mattered. But I'm not in charge. Laurel made the choice, and we have to respect that. It is her site.

Now, as far as the awards themselves, I think that they are mainly focused on story authors, in which case, I think the audio stories should have a category.

I think that Laurel has awards for the story authors because
--it's a way to recognize the people who contribute stories to her site
--it encourages people to improve their stories so that they can win an award
--when visitors come to the site, their interest gets piqued by seeing "2001 Literotica Award Winners"

As far as the roleplaying arena is concerned, that's part of the bulletin board, and perhaps that deserves it's own special set of awards. Perhaps one of the people who is a regular there could volunteer to organize that for Laurel, and then all the roleplayers could give input on the different categories for roleplaying, nominate, and vote.

That's all. Happy New Year!

P.S. Did HS really delete posts? Why?

That's a great idea Whisper.. I think some of the role players should be honored too. You got great writers on the Role Play BB that don't necessarily write stories for the site, that I think deserve a thumbs up.

Whisper... you are the voice of sanity...

Whispersecret is right, I have been busy.. But I have not ignored your suggestions. I sent an email today to Laurel about a section for audio stories, and when she gets back to me, we will go from there. And in response to your comment, Tiggs, I dont just do what I want.. I am working very hard to make the Lit. Awards appeal to everyone. The least anyone could do is to look at them with an open mind. Last year the awards were a huge success, and I have envisioned them to be an even bigger success this year. But with this type of badgering, it is hard for me to gain support for these awards. The authors of this site write amazing stories, and they need to be recognized, thats the bottom line, it has very little to do with my work or my goals as a writer. Email me if you have any problems with my ideas on this subject...

PS Whisper... I did delete threads in the Nomination Forum, but only because they weren't relevant to the Awards.
