I've noticed that some of the avatars that people use are fairly big and can be noticed. I think I made mine to small. My question is how can I make it bigger or am I stuck with what I have?

Take the picture that you resized to make the avatar. Resize the original again, just to a slightly larger size. Re-upload the new avatar. Done!

Check the stats when posting an avatar, it says what the maximum dimensions and file size can be.

If you want to maximize your results, choose your image, crop it to it's most beneficial content. Resize the image to the maximum allowable proportions, then "export" the image from your editing software. Exporting an image removes all of the meta data and peripheral crap attached to an image, significantly reducing the overall file size.

To show the significance of exporting, you can reduce a raw image file size by 75%, just by exporting it. Crop and reduce the image size and quality and you're going to increase your results exponentially.

Thank you for the information given about the resizing of the pic. Unforturnately I don't have the original pic anymore, and if I try to make the one already posted, bigger, it starts to distort. I tried using the photoshop but it is rather complicated. So I guess I'm stuck with what I have.

I really appreciated the info thanks again

I found this copy.

Cleaned it up a bit, it's pretty rough but at AV size you don't notice it too much if you don't look hard.
