Hello AH members! I'v been lurking on the board for a few months and decided to come out of lurking mode.

Here's a question for you all.
How long did it take you to get your Avatar?

I know it takes 100 posts but how long does it take making that many posts?

It varies from person to person, but in my case it took just slightly longer than a day, which is significantly less time than most I think.

depends on how garrulous you are. It took me about 2 months when I started 5 years ago but I've just broken in this new Id and it took me only two days to get 100 posts.

Welcome to the madhouse, Pull up a chair and hang out, that usual draw attention.... Especially if ya let the right thing or things hang out....

Oh and flirting helps the post numbers grow quickly, among other things....

Since Lit often has the "30 seconds between posts" limit turned on, the minimum time to make 100 posts is theoreticaly just under an hour -- depending on how fast your browser and Lit's servers are, the practical minimum is probably closer to 100 minutes.

I can't remember with this id, but it wasn't more than a few days. With my alt it was just a few hours. The playground has good game threads for getting your post count up, and the free association thread is also a good one. For me, the last thread was where I got most of my original posts.

I thought it was every 20 seconds ?

I made my first few posts close to a year before I started regularly. After that it only took me a week or two (maybe three?) to finish up and get that av that you see to the side now (my actual; face, believe it or not ).

It took me a little over a month to get my AV. I was shy and didn't really know what to post and where. I didn't discover the game threads in the playground till much later. If you want to get your AV fast that's a good place to start.
