there are gif animator programs available at Download.com.

I use Gif Composer from microsoft, but it's not all that good for ani.

I use Imageready from Adobe, but then again, I have the software bought by my company...

I know Bob uses Jasc Animation Shop a lot, although I don't know if he uses it in conjunction with other programs.

It's a fairly nifty little tool with some decent built-in effects. Comes as a part of PSP.

One of these days I'll have to actually spend some money and get a good program.
