Avatar trouble

It's not allowing me to put up an avatar. When I go to my CP and choose "edit avatar" it only shows me a button that it will not allow me to deselect that says "Do not use an avatar." Can anyone help me out here?

Hiya, thee is no problem as such, here at lit you have to make 100 posts before you can have an AV. It's not that hard to get that many posts, but that is the postage milestone you have to reach before you can get an AV, sorry!

Sure is...

You can post relevant garbage!

You can post new threads, such as counting threads in the playground etc.

Or just go on the general board for an hour and have some fun with short posts there.

Or you can quit worrying about how many posts you have, and at the end of the week you may be surprised by how far you have moved on.

Sometimes even though you have the 100, the system isn't fully updated and it doesn't always allow it immediately.

It took me a while too.

There are a lot of threads around for random inanities that you can post as much irrelevant garbage too because that is what they are there for.

Then again you could just go over to the General Board and post to any of those threads

If everyone who registered and made a few posts uploaded an AV, the owners of Lit would be in for an even more gargantuan amount of server space. The fact is, a lot of people register then forget about the site (as you did, I believe) or leave for a variety of reasons before they hit 100 posts. Those users' AVs would just be sitting, wasting server space, since inactive accounts are never culled from the database.

The 100 post limit saves Lit space and a shitload of money, and is exceedingly fair considering we're not paying a cent to be here. Don't bite the hand that feeds you and get your posts without complaint (meanwhile you can post a profile pic), or go find another site that allows avatars without posting.
