It's been 8 years since Aang's battle with the Fire Lord.

So much has changed... The group of friends that faced the Fire Nation together having set off on their own destinies since then. Each have found their places in the world, but none have ever forgotten about their pasts together, the events that shaped them into the people they have become.

For the most part, life has been bliss compared to what it was in the past. The Fire Nation, under the rule of Fire Lord Zuko, has incorporated itself back into the balance of the Four Nations, albeit with some reluctance on behalf of some of the Nations. One ruler in particular, however, had no issues at all, its ruler proudly defending the young lord with her own recent assent to the throne; The Earth Queen of Omashu, Toph.

Unfortunately, peaceful times does not always last...

The short-lived rein of Azula as Fire Lord left a scar on the fire nation, as well as a deep psychological rage in the young woman. With her father's and own defeat by not only the Avatar but her own brother, she became more and more unstable... And her banishment to the insane asylum was meant to contain and heal her. However, Azula's insane mind has only led to her plotting ways to take a far more twisted turn, set on taking revenge on those who ruined her life and took away the one thing she had wanted so badly. During her time in the Asylum, Azula made a number of allies, promising them great rewards in turn for their loyalties on her path of revenge.

Her escape from the Asylum has set all the nations on high alert, each having its own ties to something that could invoke her wrath. With Azula hiding somewhere in the nations, the friends have decided to reunite, realizing that they are the only ones who can send her, and her entourage, back to where they belong.

Name: Toph Bei Fong
Age: 19
Appearance: Here.
Home Land: The Earth Kingdom

Abilities: Earth Bending, vision by vibration, creator of metalbending

Bio: Toph was born to a rich family, parents that lavished her with every gift that a child could imagine. However, they never allowed her to do things for herself, believing her blindness to be such a disabilty that she could never manage on her own. This infuriated her to no end, running away to help Aang learn to earthbend and to escape her parents' ever hovering hands.

Considered a 'wild child' by most, she greatly enjoyed causing trouble for others, her main source of entertainment coming from the pestering and aggrivation of Katara. Almost every adult that she met chided her for her behavior- except one; King Bumi. He only laughed at her antics, saying that she should never lose her creative spirit.

Upon her return home to the Earth Kingdom after the defeat of the Fire Lord, she was given an invitation to visit King Bumi. Curious as to why the old insane man would want to see her, she made the trek to Omashu. As if being summoned to him wasn't surprise enough, she was in absolute shock over the reason behind it.

He wanted her to be his heir to the throne.

Toph thought it to be a joke at first, that the old man had finally lost his marbles completely. He agreed that he had lost them, but that was years ago, and that he truly did want her to be next in line. "You're a little whip, Toph. Quick, smart, and utterly insane. Like me! You're a regular mad genius... and who better to take over when I'm gone?" That outrageously loud cackle of his was enough to seal it for her. She agreed, staying at his castle in Omashu to watch and learn what would be expected of her.

He became almost like a grandfather to her, showing her so many things; how to rule with a loving heart, as well as how to care for Flopsie and the joy of roofsliding. His death was incredibly painful for her, her mourning for him lasting a full month before taking up her place at the throne. Still rather unsure of her rule, the former king's advisers tried to keep the power mainly in their hands- something that irked her to no end. Her temper still as short as ever, the advisers have learned to watch their words and suggestions, or else suffer her wrath. Though she has two personal bodyguards that she hired herself; The Big Bad Hippo and The Boulder, people seem to fear the young woman herself far more than the men who guard her... Especially since even the guards have shown they can be spooked by her as well.

Name: Fire Lord Zuko
Age: 24
Appearance: Here and Here
Home Land: The Fire Nation

Abilities: Master Firebender and swordsman.

Bio: Born into Fire Nation royalty, Zuko is the son of Prince (Later Fire Lord) Ozai and nephew to then heir to the throne, Iroh, the Dragon of the West. However, when Ozai's bid to take the throne before Iroh fails, he is ordered by his father, Fire Lord Azulon, to kill Zuko. In order to protect Zuko, his mother, Ursa, assists Ozai in overthrowing Azulon and taking the throne for himself, her own banishment soon following. Zuko, never truly knowing what happened, continued with his life and tried to prove himself to his father. During one meeting, Zuko boldly spoke out against his father, and treating it as great disrespect, challenges his own child to an Agni Kai duel. Refusing to fight his own father, Ozai becomes disgusted by his son's pathetic display, and heavily burns the side of Zuko's face, forever leaving a large scar. Zuko, too, becomes banished, being informed that he can only regain his honor once he finds the Avatar. However, little did Zuko know that this was merely a plot to keep him forever searching on an impossible quest, as the Avatar had been missing for a hundred years. Soon, all of that would change.

Upon hearing of The Avatar's awakening, Zuko fiercely hunts him, joined by his wise and strangely caring uncle, Iroh. Despite many close calls, Zuko was never truly able to capture Aang. After many hardships, Zuko began to realize the pointlessness of his quest, and even manages to find happiness helping his uncle run a Tea Shop in Ba Sing Se. However, the arrival of Zuko's menacing sister, Azula, soon makes things take a turn for the worse. After briefly connecting with Aang's companion, Katara, in a cave, he then betrays her established trust by immediately turning on her to help Azula kill Aang when offered the chance to return home with her. Amidst the battle, Azula strikes Aang down with lightning, and he is presumed dead.

Once home, Zuko gets everything he had wanted. His honor, his place next to his father, and even a girlfriend in a long time companion named Mai. Despite this perfect life, Zuko feels empty, as well as guilty for allowing his Uncle to become imprisoned for 'betrayal'. During a meeting not unlike the one that got him banished, Zuko once again speaks up, but inadvertently helps Ozai come up with a plan to conquer the last strong nation, the Earth Kingdom. Terrified by this, Zuko confronts his own father during the eclipse, then leaves to join the Avatar. After initial distrust from the whole group, Zuko soon helps each member on a personal mission, as well as helping Aang master his firebending, gaining each of their respect. He, along with the Avatar, return to the Fire Nation during Sozin's Comet, where Zuko and Katara face off against newly crowned Fire Lord Azula, who's sanity had been slipping ever since the betrayal of her friends. Zuko and Katara manage to capture the insane Princess, while Aang faces off against the Fire Lord, eventually winning the battle and draining Ozai's bending from him for good.

Zuko becomes the new Fire Lord with Iroh's blessing, and promises peace between the nations. He learns the truth about his mother, and reunites with Mai where they and the rest of the Avatar's group live on happily. Over the passing years, many nations have still been weary of being friendly with the nation that had brought grief upon and murdered many of their people for so many decades. Still, friendly relations with many cities has proven Zuko to be a competent and fair ruler. He remains in contact and friends with Aang and the crew, and while he has matured, his serious and brash attitude remains and is still the focus of much teasing by his companions.

Name: 'Smellerbee' Bai Tao Lin
Age: 22
Home Land: Earth Kingdom
Weapons: swords, daggers, knives...anything she can get her hands on..preferably something sharp

Bio: Her mother had been a whore. She'd never known exactly who her father was, except that he wasn't one of her customers. Smellerbee's mother had blamed her enough for his disappearance to know that much. The mottled scars on her face, much later to be covered over with red henna, had been her fault as well. Apparently there was no way her mother would allow her to become competition for her position when she grew into a woman. Fire destroyed her world when she was only seven and yet she rarely missed it. Watching the flames consume her home and family, there was no hint of grief in her heart as the world faded to black. She never spoke about the time before that to anyone, not to Longshot, not to Jet, not anyone. It was usually enough for them to know that she hated the Fire Nation just as much as they did.

Over time, she learned to forgive the Fire Nation as whole and begin to hope for something better than just struggling to survive day in and day out with the Freedom Fighters. Somehow, they had been able to convince Jet to disband their ranks. After the issue with , it was time to re-assess how they were going about things. It was supposed to work. Her, Longshot, and Jet were supposed to start over as refugees in Ba Sing Se. Yet, the moment they entered the capital's walls, Jet had become obsessed with proving the fire nation was among them. Only to disappear for weeks and come back brainwashed by the Dai Li. Jet didn't die that day, despite what Long Feng did to him. Instead, he died weeks later, slowly, painfully, as nothing they did was enough to permanently keep the fever away.

She was never quite sure exactly how she had found herself in the position she was now. The months after Jet's death had been so full of one hurried event after another, it seemed like all she ever did was fight, eating and sleeping only when they couldn't put it off any longer. For a brief time, she had been imprisoned. Longshot had thankfully got away, but there had been no hope or reason that she would be free again. Then the Great War was finally over when Ozai was stripped of his powers by the Avatar and Fire Lord Zuko assumed the throne. Things should have been peaceful right?

Wrong. She'd been freed along with thousands of other war prisoners, but even nearly a decade later, there was unrest in all of the four nations. It wasn't that things weren't a bit better, but corruption had just taken a new face. Which was why there was still a need for Freedom Fighters. Now if only someone could please tell her why she was their leader exactly. When they'd re-grouped it had only been because of things like safety in numbers, and the familiarity of each other after being together for so long. She hadn't thought when she started giving orders. She'd always followed Jet blindly, but in this sort of situation her natural bossiness just came in to play. She hadn't known that they'd listen. Hell, she'd at least expected Sneers to put up a fight. By now, she's pretty much given up trying to hoist the responsibility of what she has termed 'the most dysfunctional orphanage ever' on others.

(....ok it's me OF COURSE she has a theme song)

I'm claiming Longshot since I was begged, BEGGED, to take the part by a certain Maiden who is of the smelling. Shall get to work on a profile after I finish playing catch up on my current threads.

i always prefered Sokka to most of them, everyone else was so dam serious

Sokka simply rocks. Especially since, like his sister, it seemed he couldn't go long without gaining a new potential love interest. The water tribe siblings were like catnip for both men and women of the Avatarverse.

Not the first characters I'd expect to see chosen, but I admire such choices for that reason. Should be interesting to see them get some development.

Yeah, I was kinda surprised on that too.
But then I remembered, its those two. Expect the unexpected with them.

~THEM.~
*Jabs a finger at them menacingly*

...I dunno.
I'm still tired.

Hey, at least I didn't sign up for playing the part of the Cabbage Man or attempt to win Azula over with the crackship that is Foamzula.

Though I do like twisted, crazy chicks. *scratching chin in thought*

I suggest pimpage in the players needed thread...

it sucks that most other avatar fans I know aren't into rp

come on people..come join.. Avatards Unite!

*grins* I thought it was hilarious when I found it....

the fact that it freaks you out just makes it even better
