Avatar Help Please

I know this has been covered here ad nauseum, but I have tried every way to re-size a pic that I know and it keeps telling me I have it too large.
Can one of you in-the-know people re-size it for me?
I will be hugely grateful!

Do you mean av or profile pic, because you don't quite have enough posts for an avatar? (You're almost there, though!)

If you post the pic in this thread, I'm sure that someone could resize it for you.

Uh oh! I have to expose myself as the totally lame non-tech person and say I don't know how to add the pic! I tried and it only gives a space for url, not 'browse'. The pic is on my computer.
