If everyone who registered and left before 100 posts put up an avatar, the servers would be even fuller of useless crap than they are now, with 918,000 members. That's why they make you "work hard" for the AV.

Just be glad we don't make you work even harder by searching for the answers to questions that have been asked a gazillion times, like some forums do.

Welcome to Lit, and you might want to acquaint yourself with the timesaving FAQs Before Posting sticky while you're checking stuff out. The answers to most common newbie questions are all right there, so no one has to work too hard.

It's actually a blessing in disguise! You get to know the board much better through your 100 posts AND it's a big accomplishment once you reach the goal of having the privilege to post your avatar!
