This is an old thread that I had started a few months ago that I was quite fond of, but it died out after a fairly decent run. But now I want to revive it! COME HELP ME DO IT!!!!!!!!!!...... please?

There's something like ten pages of posts but all you need to know is...
I'm Jack Ressing, the fortunate young captain of the Blood Money

Katamari Roller is Sabre a mute assassin who has signed on as a crew member and has recently become Jack's second in command and lover

Right now Jack has just nearly been killed, but has recovered enough to lead his crew into battle to capture a Spanish payroll

Could use all sorts of characters on this one! Just post here if you're interested!

Synopsis of our story so far:
Jack, a young sailor, wins a heavily armed Galleon from a merchant in a card game, kills the five other people who put in the money for the game, leaving him the sole owner of the ship. He picks up a crew consisting of a mute Arab assassin, a former naval officer down on his luck and a stowaway. They sail, get to know each other, pick up another ship when they trick another pirate vessel into attacking them, Rocco becomes captain of that one, taking his stowaway wench with him. They put in at port, are attacked by Trenchad's men, who Sabre and Jack easily defeat, then are attacked by the man in black who nearly kills Jack before Sabre fights him off. They go after a Spanish military payroll and.... see beginning of the new thread

Kuuroinochou - Lyonesse, an island princess who is a slave.
Rvplymates - Maria Santiago, the daughter of a famous spanish shipping baron and a Captain of her own vessel

Yeah, I'd like to join as a young and arrogant crew member, or helmsman. But I don't know if I have the "stamina" to post much. I seem not to be able to continue RP's long, but I'll try for this one if it's okay.

Dynosius, you'd work well as a crew member, if you accidently disappeared your character could just be NPCed

I think it is fine. Maybe we could simply have the ship be taken off route by a storm, and we lose some crewmen, and have to recruit some more in a port? Perfect for getting some more people in, I think.

Hmm.. since you did get 10 pages into it, might I suggest a Kuu-method and start a continuer as Jack and Sabre arrive at a new port elsewhere a few months after the current thread? Leave him time to heal up from his lil incident there, and get fresh blood for his ships.
That way you can get a new crew without a huge confusion, and allow the new people to not feel like their doing a flying leap into the middle of an established thread.

Well, I'm pretty cool with that, again though this is my created thread, but Katamari is pretty much my co-pilot on this so I'll be wanting to get her two cents before any decision is come to, but fast forwarding to after the battle between the Spanish would allow for a lot more characters to be introduced and would give me an excuse to write another long sea battle scene

Fast forwarding to after the battle would serve to give the newcomers more breathing space when creating their characters.

They could be recruited in the port, be taken from the Spanish ship (as slaves, crew, whatever), or be recruited from some point between the battle and the latest port visited.

Personally, I don't mind either, but let's just see what people's ideas are for their characters, and work from there. The moment of their recruitment is all that stops the RP at the moment, truth be told. Once that's solved, anything goes...

well, if u guys get it going, maybe recruit at ports and such.....sea battles like pirates do.....ill read along til you attack an appropriate ship for you to take me hostage from

Bio: Mel has always been fascinated by the sea. She took part in her father's voyages many times in her youth, climbing up onto the rails to watch the waters below, much to her father's displeasure. When she was 10, one voyage left the ship in the midst of a terrible storm... When the clouds finally cleared, nothing in the hold was harmed, but Missuer DuBois most precious cargo was no where to be found. Melanie had been swept overboard by the harsh waves of the storm.
She was found by another ship, flying the black and white smiling face of Jolly Roger. Melanie had always been taught to fear pirates... but the Captain was kind to her. He took her in as his own, teaching her the only things he knew- the ways of the sea, to handle a sword, and the pirates' code. He never allowed the violence of his "hobbies" be seen by the young girl, keeping her in his quarters during battles until she was 16, old enough to join him on deck. She admired her pirate adopted father Roberts, holding the code he had taught her to be the highest law... Now 19, she fights alongside Roberts, the pet ferret he had given her being a source of entertainment (and theivery) among the crew.

Long story short- Roberts' ship meets ocean floor while Roberts meets gallows during their stop. Melanie wants revenge and to continue in Roberts' footsteps.
