The last few weeks, I've discovered that once my username goes in the login box, my password automatically autofills. I DO NOT want this. Did I manage to flip a switch somewhere, unbeknownst? How do I turn it off? This doesn't happen anywhere else but here.

Please help.

sometimes, when logging into sites, a small box appears with a 'remember password for this site' and a button to click if you want it to do that. could you have possibly clicked on that by mistake a few weeks back, thinking you were closing the box?

i think you can get around this kind of thing by clearing all history and maybe cookies or something on your pc, so your pc 'forgets' the log ins.

I don't recall hitting that "remember me" box. I usually try to avoid getting anywhere near it. It isn't beyond possibility, though.

I'll see if deleting cookies and history helps. Thanks.

If you don't want to keep any of your passwords, you can go into the tools or security options on your browser and set it to automatically delete all passwords when you close the browser. In Microsoft Edge / Internet Explorer, it's under security, and there is a check box you can select so that you automatically remove saved passwords from your browser history. If you leave that box unchecked, it will still keep all your passwords when it clears the rest of your browser history.

Hope that helps.

Sorry about the issue.

I'm not sure what browser you are using, but you should be able to disable that feature per site or globally in any browser. You should also be able to view and delete any existing passwords. Lit doesn't have control over the browser, we can only name a form field so that the browser will ask you if you want to save your password or not.

If you confirm which browser you are using (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.), I can try to track down the instructions for deleting the password. Or, if you prefer not to say which browser, you should be able to find the info on Google.

Hope that helps. :D

Thanks.

The browser I'm having the trouble with is Firefox

I might have stumbled across the solution by paying attention when I logged in. I hadn't noticed before that there was a small dialog with the tag "view logins" or something along that line. Somehow, I must have told the browser (yes it was within Firefox) at some point to save my login information. I deleted that, so we'll see what happens next time.

I'll keep you informed.

Thanks for the help so far, folks!

I got it solved.

If I'd have paid closer attention when I signed in, I could have figured it out sooner. There'd be little popups around the login dialogs when it autofilled, and clicking on that sent me into the "vault" where I had the option of cancelling the autofill.

So, if anybody else runs into this, first ask them if there's a little key icon when the autofill occurs. Click on that and it should give the option of cancelling the password save. That is, if I remember correctly how that worked for me.

Again, thanks for the help!
