Snake, honey, you probably already know this, but you have a datbase error on your site ('80004005').

Lou :rose:

Yeah, I just got the error too.

How do you submit a story anyhow? I was there yesterday and didn't see any 'submit' button. I've got a story or two for you.

Sorry guys. I was out swimming with the wife and just now found out about the issue. I am currently working on it. It shouldn't be much longer. Just having to upgrade to an enterprise system.

Please stand bye....

I can't click either. :(

Nor can I. :( (Mozilla)

I may give in to the demons and use IE to check out the site, but I really hate doing it. :D

Hey BS, good for you! Wish I had the knowledge and skills to do even half of that!

Just a small question: what do you do if a paying site ripped off a story? I'm slightly worried that if you have a story posted at Lit, and a story posted on your site, Lit might not go to bat on our behalf as the paying site could now have got it from a number of locations. Hope that made sense!

Cheers, WT

Perfect sense. Regardless where another site got the copyrighted work, it is still infringing on the author's copyright, provided that it's without the author's permission. I will gladly assist the author in seeking justice.

Hi all,

I was just looking over the Lit guidlines, and I believe that its in the best interest and spirit of this site to have this thread removed.

6. Any posts made with the intent of promoting another site or a product will be removed. You may not send unsolicited PM's or emails to other users trying to promote other websites or products. Literotica is not a place to promote other websites, and we are very strict on this issue. If you abuse this policy, you will be banned.

7. Please do not blatantly "advertise" for other websites in your signature. We allow non-commercial links to other people's personal websites in sigs, but please do not beg people to click on your link, make it huge and/or flashing, or otherwise be obnoxious.

We do not allow links to any adult pay sites. We also reserve the right to remove signatures which link to sites with numerous annoying pop-ups, viruses, or anything else potentially harmful to people's computers. If you turn your signature into an advertisement, we will ask you to change it. Do not start threads with the URL in the header.

I will have to change the message to strongly sugguest that people with Netscape delete it from there machines, and come to the dark side....

Do let us know if you ever get around to coding your site in standardized XHTML & CSS.

Not likely, because I like that I'm able to change an entire table cell into an active rollover link, move images around a page without using layers, and even change the colors of scroll bars like here on Lit to match the color scheme of the site's design. I'm just guessing, but you never seen that type of creativity, :D .

Netscape 6 or higher allows users to view this type of extended coding. You can always go for an upgrade.

I use to fight these types of battles at work, but with the cost effectiveness of distributed computing standards where changed. No longer are computers shipped from computer companies with resolutions set at 640x480.

Extended Hyper Text Mockup Language? Try Dynamic Web Application Design and Development.

You are not being left out, just encouraged to join the fun and excitement.

That isn't the issue. I'm using Mozilla Firefox 0.9. The, I'm assuming **********, buttons don't work. I'll see if the site works under Opera--but IE is out of the question.

Dude, you're making a webiste for stories, not an online transaction system or multimedia presentation that requires fancy chmancy components.

What you need are web pages that simply works, and not only with proprietary software. I can make pages that do what your pages do, but in standard compilant code, running smoothly on any current browser. Haven't seen any expression of creativity there so far (checked it out with explorer) that isn't easily reworked so that your site is accessible to everyone.

But hey, it's your ship, steer it any way you like. Just expect a certain percentage of users to not follow. Don't get me wrong, it's a good site with a lot of potentional. Just too bad you're painting yourself into a corner compatibility-wise.

cheerio! :)

If I remember correctly Opera has the ability to act like other browsers. Are you a hater of MS?

I'm just wondering why the word j a v a s c r i p t, was edited out ... Oh, nevermind, you can include J-scripts in posts probably.

I'm not a hater of IE. I don't trust IE, and every exploit one is likely to run afoul of targets IE. Also I 'm used to tabbed browsing and mouse gestures. I could use MYIE2, but I suspect that it is subject to the same exploits as IE.

The greatest thing about it is that it appears simple to you. :D What is delivered to your browser is HTML and other presentation formatting. What I write is nothing that any browser could understand.

Watch closely and you will see that the site will "automagically" start allowing authors to self-publish their work without sharing their profits.

There is no way in the world "It is virtually impossible" for you to make any web browser standard HTML web page do what a dynamic page does.

You can only fool those who don't know, or think they know and don't.

How creative would it be if you saw it? lol

In the end, it's what ever delivers the information you're seeking. It was a joke, about deleting Netscape. I use to use it exclusively until the AOL (the virus) deal, and MS stepped up their game with IE. Heck, I don't like the one hundred and one downloads and upgrades, but my apps run smoothly.

Hi BS
OK, switched to IE - I run IE 5.2 for Mac.
Logged on to your site, every link I tried (all of them) returned me to the Home page.
I've tried under Safari - no joy.

Hi! I posted a couple of things there under my regular name CharlotteSometimes. It's really fast and I like that I can go back and re-edit when I see things I missed!

And for all of you with published works, you will be able to advertise your works in the "Author's Books" page. Yep, free. I've posted a couple, but I think I should leave this up to the authors.

Just be careful with your ads. I am adding features as I go. Being fathers day I'm trying to contact all the father's I know by phone.

Sorry to be a pain BS, but when I registered I meant to use the name Carl as opposed to what I have used 'Carl Stephen East,' I thought the user name would be the one that showed, obviously I was wrong. If you could correct this for me, I'd appreciate it. If not, no worries it's only a minor mistake.

Thx

Carl

Tell me something BS, will people be able to leave comments, in time, on your site?

I'm still thinking on that one. Some people have a way of just flooding places with crap.

Send authors feedback is a go, but I don't think I want to store them on the site. I'm not interested in having a message board on the site. I have built a chat room, so that authors can chat with each other if they are logged into the site at the same time. The chat room is available to authors from the "Author's Desk" page.
