Authors, first story you wrote?

Back in my teens I wrote a few Lovecraftian type things. The only one I named was Acolytes of Pazuzu. Pazuzu is best known for being the name of the demon in the Exorcist, but I gave him a more HPL style spin making him a distant relative of the elder gods who disguised himself as a Christian demon.

Those stories were hand written and ceased to exists when they were a casualty of a fire in my parents basement.

First published piece I did was featured in a small DC Comics fanzine published by a local small press. It was an article about Alan Moore's resurrection of horror characters in the DCU back around 2005. I have a copy of that magazine somewhere in my office.

Not necessarily the first story I wrote, but it's the one I always remember with the utmost embarrassment.

I was in 4th year(UK high school) and 15 and I submitted a story to my English teacher Mr Roberts, who I had a massive crush on, where the girl in the story who was not too dissimilar to myself and her school teacher who shockingly bore a striking resemblance to Mr Roberts, fell in love and ultimately ran away together to continental Europe to escape the judgment of society.

It really was a beautiful tale :D

'The fanciful fantasies of an adolescent'....or something to that effect was the remarks left on my work

I got started writing through fan fiction. Thankfully most of the stuff I wrote in that area has been confined to the internet's dust-bin and is difficult, if not impossible, to find. :)

I, too, got started with fan fiction. But this was in the days long before the internet, when we published fanzines on mimeographs and Xerox copiers and handed them out at conventions. If anybody still has these, I wrote under the name "Star Girl Seven" and the writing was dreadful.

My first erotic piece was something that I wrote for a college creative writing class. Years later, I was encouraged to dig it up, re-write it to eliminate some of the Victorian circumlocutions (read: euphemisms), and submit it to Lit. Here it is:

IIRC, the instructor said that the piece showed "promise" and encouraged me to write more in that vein, but I was too insecure then to pursue it, or any fiction for that matter. It wasn't until a friend talked me into joining Lit that I got back into writing erotic fiction.
