I got one author favorite today.
I don't see favorite author's either, for the past few days.
This is why for the last few years when we were hearing about all the new features coming I was never in a hurry to see them, because of all the issues and glitches it causes.
Well, and the fact that they never include what the users have been asking for or fixing what the users point out are broken.
right now my RA is showing everything back to May of 2009.![]()
The recent activity date filters may have returned to normal behavior but I don't believe the author favorite reporting functionality has.
The last author favorite response I saw on my account during the time when the recent activity list was showing everything was on June 20 or the 22nd. Since the recent activity list went back to normal there have been no author favorites in the list (not even the test one I asked a friend to do). Additionally, the one that was around the 20th is gone and the most recent one is back on the 16th.
This still seems broken. I tried finding other responses to this in the forum but this thread seems to be it.
Yeah its still a mess. I saw one fav a couple days ago and it disappeared, If you're on the top 250 list you can see they are being added every day, but that is a very small amount of the writers on this site.
Like you I did a test. I faved myself and it did not show. Then I un-faved myself and that showed up. That means somewhere in the system it is tracking them.
So...the unfavs are showing, but favs not.
This is a very important feature to the authors here and its a shame there has been no update on this or no sense of urgency in getting it fixed.
Thanks for the confirmation. I haven't seen much information on this and was beginning to worry it was gone forever.
That said, it appears they are working on a new control panel which will hopefully give us a little more control (fingers crossed). I know that stuff can be tricky so they likely have their hands full.
Waiting with a 'Christmas Morning'-like anticipation for the new toys. If they manage to toss in a bug fix for this before that, all the better.
Are you also seeing the glitch that if someone favs a story and you click the story link, the link is an error page?
But is someone comments and you click the story title, that works.

I added favorite authors and noticed that those authors favorited me back. I thought people were just being kind, but I just added two more and immediately saw reciprocal additions from each of them. Is the system automatically doing this, or do you think both happened to be online just now?
weird glitch with the post, how appropriate.
This site has limped along with broken pieces everywhere-including an admission the Volunteer Editors feature was never finished and um, how old is that?
Now because they have to-and really do have to-upgrade to be able to work with the new phones and apps, they're trying to yank an enormous dinosaur into the modern era one tiny piece at a time and with the same duct tape they've always used.
4/21 Manu started the thread about beta testing the new control panel, close to three months later no new one, and the old one is more broken than ever with a new glitch every day.
But, hey....as long as the General Board is functioning, who cares, right?
What this is, is flat out half ass and cheap. This site is far too large for one person-or two if Laurel works on these things too-to upgrade it one small piece at a time and move on.
Each move causes more issues they can't-or won't- figure out and by the time they move across the board where they started is already screwed up again.
Spend some fucking money on having some pros come in and do it, do it quickly, and do it right.
