When I press favorite story at the end of a story, it doesn’t show up in my favorites even though it says its been added.

There's always a lag. Different parts of the site refresh on different cycles, and there's never consistency from one data set to another.

I've always wondered how people can favorite stories without also upvoting them. Come on, peeps, give your favorited authors a boost!

I'm ashamed to admit this after 20+ years, but how can you tell they didn't upvote the story?

Sounds like that would take hour by hour monitoring? Checking the favorites count, then quickly checking votes? Not that it matters if you choose to do that.

You apparently get much more engagement than I do. One of my stories can go weeks with no votes.

You know, I've read some of your offerings, and thought they were good. Here's the thing, my son who used to design websites for businesses, including law firms, gave me a lesson on SEO(if that's the proper term); and after putting a lot of prurient terms and titillating words in my story descriptions, my views went up considerably. Some of my lowest rated stories(high 3's or low 4's) have hundreds of thousands views and the most votes/comments.
i.e. I wrote a story about a middle age housewife getting taken advantage of by some college age guys. So I used descriptive terms, like: busty housewife, gangbang, home invasion. reluctant slut, young studs, etc.
(edit): I just had a nice comment from a reader saying my story was realistic, and even though it has no penetrative sex in it, he/she gave me four stars. The only terms that may have appealed to them may have been: cousins, bare-ass beach, & skinny dipping, but I'm not sure? I'll take four with that comment.
