The Gold Coast (Surfer's Paradise) is quite nice in QLD. As for spiders, reptiles, sharks - deaths are less common than you might fear. The real thing to look out for are dropbears.

Rusty...I knew what I was doing with my word placement there...I can even confidently say that I'm rugged up right now as there is an Autumn chill in the air.
I find that all the Aussies I've ever interacted with are all the things you mentioned and then...that accent...I'm just putty in their hands with that!

AS... it's just starting to warm up here lovely spring days. I feel for you if it is getting cold, I much prefer the heat.

It boggles my mind that the world works that way...my season is about nature resting and resetting while yours is burgeoning new and fresh. I like Autumn but the mornings have been so chilly. Winter will sadly, freeze my ass.

I find it amusing that the person who started this thread chose the screen name Atlas Shrugged when speaking of a country that is quite liberal. It's one of the things I always loved about Australia.
