Austin's Sketchbook

nothing like a classic, is there? love the different degrees of shading you have going on here. the sign in the background is really telling of the era this truck comes from.

heh heh... but the low profile tires give another clue.:D

My entry in the second illustrators challenge "cup"

Hi Austin,
you mentioned (somewhere that I can't remember) that you use photoshop. I do too (a lot) and love the program. If you have any questions or any tips to pass on let me know and I'll do likewise.

Nice work, Austin...very nice in the classical vein. R. Crumb is there, too, but more in atmosphere than direct style. Keep up with the pen-and-ink; it's my favourite medium for drawing and for looking at (just can't get the old academic out of me...).

I was about to note how some aspects made me think of crumb's work - particularly the female face & body type chosen here. :)

Looks a lot like a ripoff of R. Crumb's style.

You didn't look very far.
Sure there are some Crumb inspired pieces, but a lot of others as well.

What the heck drew that out of the woodwork!?
