agh i have to go and see this film with lisa ... (i lost a bet) i dont particularly like austin powers in fact i hate him ... lisa finds the whole british teeth and bad haircut thing very funny and the fact that it annoys me is the cherry on the cake ... worst she considers it all factual

anyone else seen it or like it or have any ideas on how i can get out of having to watch it :)

Bring a portable radio, earphones, a good book and a penlight.

You will not enjoy this movie. You will find nothing of value in this movie. You will not care to discuss this movie with anybody afterwards.

You have no reason to turn your eyes toward the screen. Trust me.

Smoke a monster of Chocolate Thai before you go and then everything will be funny, despite the movie.

I sat through the first one, didn't see the second one, and can't believe how much attention the third one is getting. I like cheap humor as much as the next guy but I just don't get it.

Mike Meyers has jumped the shark.

IT IS SO GOOD.

I cannot overstate how fucking funny this movie is. god i loved it.

but then i liked the first 2...

The sad thing is, Undercover Brother was way funnier and a superior movie but no one really wanted to see it. Bad promotion and the presence of Eddie Griffin might have torpedoed it but he actually was very good. And I'm not even an Eddie Griffin fan.

i guess i could always try and neck her in back seats if the place is quiet :)

It cracked me up, nearly the whole way through. I seriously had tears in my eyes. But, you know, I'm not a tough critic.

There were only a few parts I found gross, but the rest was hilarious for me.

Ugh... I can't stand that movie. I can't stand Mike Myers especially. He just grosses me out. My brother loved it though. :p

The first five minutes are hilarious... then it plummets to mediocrity.

So by maintining mediocrity, it makes it miles ahead of the second one which was incredibly bad.

Goldmember isn't that bad even though I have to admit, the only reason I went was to see Beyonce in her blonde afro wig. :p

If you really want to laugh and be entertained go see Eight Legged Freaks instead!

Refer to my review below . . .

Dude, are you on drugs?

I went to see both yesterday and laughed m ass off at Austin Powers, though it was childish humor (what else would they be?). And 8 Legged Freaks? I walked out. If I'd known David Arquette was starring in this, I wouldn't have walked in to begin with...

Amid a flurry of dissention, I stand by my Eight Legged Freaks review. This one is destined for cult classic status! You may scoff at me now but time will tell in the end! :D

I liked Goldmember. I grew up a huge fan of James Bond and love that sophmoric satire.

Just go to it expecting a goofy, silly movie and it's fine. I think too many people take movies TOO seriously at times and can't just laugh at sillyness.

Will it ever be one of my favourite movies? Hell no. But was it entertaining...Yeppers!

To each his own, but I didn't see anything funny about it at all, in fact, it bored the Hell out of me...
*shrugs*

Loved the first 2. Few funny scenes in the 3rd, but overall, it was lacking. Not enough new material. There were long stretches with no laughing, and where I felt like trying to drown myself in the barrel-o-soda I got from the concession area.

As for Eight legged Freaks, I'm thinking of going to see it tonight. There are two things for certain about David Arquette: 1) He's an aquired taste, 2) he is box-office POISON!

It doesn't have to be funny anymore, I think $71.5 million dollars proves that.

I happen to like the Austin Series, they make me laugh, but I'm just a big kid in a mans body, and not a pretty one at that.

Mike Meyers is making fun with sterotypes, it's nothing more.

Sexy, really, I think you should opt for the necking thing, if you really dont' like these movies. Then tell us about it tomorrow.

lisa says there will be a quiz so i have to pay attention ... if im distracted i have to make sure i distract her in equal amounts :)

she loves the british stereotypes thing ... when we were camping down in cornwall we bumped into an old english couple that had austin powers teeth and talked snobby ... she will never let me forget it now ... she says we all have bake bean teeth (even though my teeth are fine bah)

The end of the movie sets it up for a sequel, and I don't think it'll be very good.

saw it :)

wasnt THAT bad ... actually laughed quite a bit ... and we still had some room for necking too and lisa bought me popcorn :) ... so it was pretty good

I thought it was funny at times, but it fell short of the standards set by the first one, and even the second. It was enjoyable, and I think it's worth seeing, but only if you're familiar with the first two, and you don't have to pay to see it.

Don't get me wrong: I really liked the first two, but Goldmember was just a bit lacking in what made the others great.

what? that's it? no lesbian stories to share? What a gyp! I want my money back s-g! ;)

i think i may have figured out some of the "lacking" in Goldmember---it's never alluded to that Austin has sex in this movie (gets close but is called away from it).
I like juvenile humor in movies, so this Austin Powers was as funny to me as the other 2.
