Austin Chronicle endorses Beto O'Rourke along with the Dallas Morning News, the San Antonio Express-News, the Houston Chronicle , the Texas Tribune
Here is a bit of truth, about Beto-
Cruz has backed the government seizure of private property when it comes to pipelines and border walls. When the candidates’ first debate rolled around last month, it was O’Rourke, not Cruz, who raised the specter of eminent domain.
“That wall will not be built on the international border between the United States and Mexico,” he said. “It’ll be built on someone’s farm, someone’s ranch, someone’s property, someone’s homestead.”
O’Rourke “did the right thing” by recusing himself from most matters related to the project.

Ted Cruz, speaking out of both sides of his mouth-
Cruz joked about throwing his Democratic opponent, Rep. Beto O’Rourke, in a prison cell with Hillary Clinton.
Here is what Ted Crizuuz said, after the MAGAbomber tried to murder Democrats-
“Political disagreements are fine, even healthy, but we should always be civil and respect each other’s humanity,” he tweeted.

This is what Ted Cruz said about Democrats-
Despite the blanket disapproval of political violence, Cruz forcefully points most of the blame at liberals, as he did last weekend while stumping with Fox host Sean Hannity.
"There is an ugliness that's really scary, and I'm concerned it's going to descend into violence," he said. "The rhetoric that they are using is right on the edge of violence, and that's the next step. The problem is the left right now, they're so filled with rage that facts don't matter, they just want to burn it all down, and that's not good for our country."
