i tried to like game of thrones but i still don't really get the attraction to it. i guess i've never really been too into the medieval / fantasy themed shows

I've always been a fan of Sci Fi and epic fantasy. It's pretty unusual for me not to have read the books long before the TV show is made, but time and money have been short the last few years.
My kids have vanished to their father's house now that he is home. With any luck, I won't see them again until Tuesday night. I'm over parenting for this school holidays.

Yes, we made it back.... and even managed to beat the rain!
Rumpy is safely in the shed.
Now comes all the hard work - we have yet to paint the bulk of the body, plus the 351 needs to come out and have a complete overhaul.
We're hoping to get the car looking and sounding awesome for the Heart for Kids car run in November
As for GOT, I simply couldn't get into it
I tried.... but I'm more of a 'historical biography' kinda person than fantasy/sci-fi.

I thought Gil agreed that the next meet up could be up here in Cairns, unless things have changedWe've had a few meets over the yrs.... but any future ones will have to be in Sydney. Gil and banditsimply HAVE to be able to go, so Sydney is the only option!

Cairns is a good idea - but I think with Gil needing dialysis so often, it won't be possible if it happens at all
plus... flights from almost everywhere to Sydney are affordable for most.
I know that leaves you a little bit put out
But, it may not happen anyway.....

I have watched StarGate SG-1 all 11 seasons 7 times each and StarGate Atlantis all 5 seasons 4 times each and StarGate Universe only season 1 onceMy kids are addicted to it. Unfortunately there are very few episodes that i haven't seen at least twice.
I'd rather watch Game of Thrones. I'm half way through season 1.

i just discovered a great french patisserie in Brisbane. I was trying to find a place that does "cronuts"and the came up.
omg these cronuts are like biting into a bit of deep fried buttery heaven! for those playing at home.... caramel flavour is the bomb!

The inside is the same texture and taste of a croissant. The outside is the same texture and taste of a donut.

Brief dazzling sunshine this morning, before the drizzly, half-arsed, I-can't-be-bothered-really-raining crap returned.
at least it means no more floods at this point. ACT school holidays in last week so lots of traffic on the road still.
Orlanthe must be sitting pretty in FNQ this time of year.
I'm thinking we haven't heard from Mr Elf for a few weeks? Cold snap got his tongue??..... or typing finger.....
