I do manage the occasional whistle stop visit, Gil - although it often goes unnoticed.

I hadn't noticed the Lit group on Fetlife... I must take a peek. Thanks for the heads up....I spend far too much time there as it is and one more excuse is just what I need! If you go looking for me, I'm using another nic....

For my sins I'm in Canberra for one night tonight for work. I don't know Canberra at all. Anyone recommend an area I can go to where there's a choice of a few pubs and restaurants for a good feed and a beer or two?

Depends where you are. All town centres have restaurants. Great Italian in Civic at Baileys' Corner.

Thanks for the Canberra tips guys. In the end my flight was delayed so I didn't have much time to stray far from where I was staying. Ended up in a place called Charlie Black Brasserie in Manuka which was pretty good. Decent bar menu, range of beers and live music. Next time I'll get an earlier flight
