Depends on specs for new machine and if current one is ok in all other regards.
That 'he thinks' is a bit if a worry. If you spend all that money and it's still not working, that'd be a crock!

How old is the laptop? Is the $777 to replace with an identical machine? If I was replacing it I'd have a good look online to see how much more it would cost to get something better, no point repurchasing old technology. I'd only pay the repair if the laptop was top notch.

The toshiba is about 2 years old now, old for laptop.
I have decided to get the new one, it's an upgrade to the old machine better processor and video card. I did heaps of research and even looked ob the whirlpool forum.
Seem like the best bet, and now I will be able to party diablo 3 for sure

talking about old laptops...
i bought the very first netbook that came out, a HP.
and i'm still using it over 3 years later!
no1son (who's a bit of a tech nerd) is constantly surprised that the netbook is still going!
especially given how much use it has received.... but it is finally showing it's age a little and i have had to reformat twice.
i'll replace it with another netbook - i don't need all the bells and whistles of a more complex machine (and besides, most laptops come with a black keyboard which i can't see due to my eyesight!)
since i got the tablet though, the netbook has been used a little less

I used to play WOW just seen, the panda class and had a giggle about it really.
But it's decided new laptop next week getting a lenovo y560, then the tedious work of file transferring lol

honestly, i can't justify the price of an apple.
