Ok. So I've got my car back and everything's been flushed out. BUT now it "putters" everytime I put the accelerator down! The little mongrels had put water in the tank.

I got my cooking mojo back!
Dinner is garlic and celery stuffed and deboned shoulder of pork, celeriac mash, balsamic glazed carrot, turnip and parsnip, with deep-fried green beans and a balsamic pepper sauce.
Thinking about dessert now. Might make an apple strudel - quick and easy.

Replaced the water pump in the Lily Marlene car (XD wagon) and will tackle the rocker cover gasket tomorrow. I've christened her that because, like the singer, she's not so special when you first see her, but when you hear her and experience her, she's one of the most beautiful things

Brought up another 4 tonnes of chopped wood so the fire can tick away on these cold days (today we got to a balmy 8C).

If your car is 'puttering', and you suspect water, then you should have the entire fuel system checked and flushed.
You could do some damage if it is water in the system if there's still water in the fuel rail. They may not have checked that.

Then all I can suggest is that you absolutely do not let the fuel guage go below half for the next 1000km or so. Just keep topping it up.
Better to have a little water in a lot of fuel than the other way round!

Roast chicken is one thing none in my house like, so I never make it. In fact, chicken is a rare meat for me to do, because even the kidlets don't really like it.
They have informed me that they'd much rather have turkey, or my double roast duck
