I need a lot of memory for what I do. Though my iPad cost me $948 the chapist is like $500

my galaxy has 16G internal, and 16G SD memory.
more than enough for what i need, and i suspect more than enough for Curious :)

i especially love that it doubles as a GPS - travelling is so much easier!

i also paid $150 for 10G downloads/12 mths access through telstra, and in the last 6 weeks i have used 16cents!
and i use my tab when i'm out and about all the time!

but the bestest function, IMO, is the recipe search.... i can pull up a recipe, stand the galaxy in my kitchen, and cook away! and all while checking facebook and lit!

i tell ya, these tablets (all of them, Galaxy, iPad, etc) are the absolute favouritist things ever

Cheapest is $579 but with no 3G but does have wi fi (wireless)

Oh god, now you're confusing me. What's 3G? Isn't that just the phone network? I've never been able to understand the difference between wifi and bluetooth and all that.

My problem is that I don't seem to want it badly enough. I can't seem to make myself do anything about it. Wishful thinking is just not cutting it.

i didn't either.
then one day, not sure why, i just thought 'it's time'.
and by making just a few changes, i lost 1kg a week continuously.

3G is the phone network yes - but it's also used for internet.
wifi is wireless internet connection to a static (home) network.
bluetooth is pretty much just used for phones now, but it's a handy function for file transfer between your tablet, phone and pc.
does that help?

don't you love how the tablet automatically connects to the home network (and disconnects from 3G) as soon as you get in range?
Super function - means i don't have to remember

Yep

Does the galaxy have airplane mode and iBook (like kindle)?

i paid $189 for mine, and it has wifi, 3G and bluetooth.

Hey that actually sounds doable! I had been investigating the galaxy phones, not the tablets and they're up in the $600 range. I hadn't really considered the tablet, because I was convinced I needed the phone part, but maybe I don't? Maybe I just keep my little old phone and get a tablet?

*looks in - pokes out tongue and yells*

I think so? http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh130/chickadee_in_oz/Smilies/dunno.gif *tries to fit that info into her brain*

OK, so if people have 3G and the like, what are wifi hotspots and how do they work? Do they cost money? I know that I can take my netbook to McDonald's and use their wireless for free, since I'm set up for wireless at home but I need a dongle for when I'm out elsewhere. I find the connectivity a bit of an issue though, which tends to make me just leave my netbook home.

yes, i have 3 different reader programs, including kindle.
And yes, i have air mode.
I think the galaxy and the ipad are almost identical in what they can do, it's just the physical size that's different.

this galaxy can be used as a phone too - in fact, i bought it from a telstra reseller (Wills Mobiles).
