hey peoples :D

rarely get to post these days - busy, busy, busy!
i'm working again.... this time on the radio :) yep, my voice is out there!
part time only till end of jan, then i'm hoping to move into marketing (looking very promising) and more hours to make it full-time.

spent the long weekend at symmonds plains for the v8 supercars.... and got to meet jamie whincup and lowndsy :D
totally thrilling experience - had a meal with them and they signed everything (including some 1:18 scale cars i had) and just generally were complete gentlemen.
then to go on and win 1-2 for race two and 3 was just the best!
also spent time with the boys from DJR - ok, call me an autograph slut if you must! - as well as courtney, winterbottom and ingall.
had the best time ever :D

apart from that, i'm busy training for a 4 day hike - loads of hill climbs and wet walks!

anyway, that's pretty much all the BIG news....
hope everyone is doing ok and feeling eachother

If only they raced SPEEDWAY I would have been more impressed Although I have seen Richards, Murphy, Ingall drive sprintcars & Rasher & I could hear Murphy yelling & laughing as he raced around the track.

Great to hear your putting your talents to use & I'm sure you'll make a hit of it.

So hows the kids doing? things smoothing out there?

:D :D :D

i'm getting a herbie!
a red one.
for xmas.

:D :D :D

Well, Merry Xmas to you! :p

Herbie - as in Beetle/Bug? Or is this code for something I really don't wanna know about?

I suppose I have to start looking into what the family want for Xmas - you'd think I would have learned by now to start looking in May

our friend only wants what she's just paid for the rego, because she loves mum totally and knows i will look after the car.
(she's taken herself off the road as she doesn't feel safe driving any more, but adores her car and wants to make sure it goes to a good home.)

Hi MsFire:kiss:

Thanks for the email & I'm posting it here as well.

Did you know the Government is proposing an internet censorship scheme that goes further than any other democracy in the world? I've just signed a petition to prevent the scheme that will make the internet up to 87% slower, more expensive, accidentally block up to one in 12 legitimate sites, will miss the vast majority of inappropriate content and is very easily sidestepped. The government of the day may add any ‘unwanted’ site to a secret blacklist under the scheme. Our Government should be doing all in its power to take Australia into the 21st century economy, and to protect our children. This proposed internet censorship does neither. Can you join me and take action on the net today to save the net?

Thanks!

Xstatic the X factor, Why would you think WQ would post anything here that you might not want to know? KNOWLEDGE is power I was once told. :D

I have some good pics of the puddle jumper (VW beetle) I used to drive @ the speedway. I did have one belonging to a mate that was painted up like Herbie, numbers & all, with the big tyres on the back it looked more like HERBIE on Steroids !!!!!

The only problem I ever found with VWs is the clutch & throttle cables running through tubes in the hump between the seats, that are a real problem when the tube breaks.

Vw

had two of them over the years and both were great, use to pass the snow plows in Northern Mich going to work

I remember when I was in my late teens a freind had a 60's beetle. The throttle cable had broken, so he'd tied a length of thin rope to the pedal, ran it out the drivers window, down the outside of the car, under the rear bumper to the carby. Strangely enough, this actually worked for quite a while as long as everyone remembered to get in the passengers side. With some planning, it's possible to get 7 or 8 largish teens into a beetle we discovered. We also discovered that any women who were there were safer in the middle, although they did tend to get groped alot.
Well done on the acquisition WQ-sounds great!

Peeking in to say an American "Happy Thanksgiving" to my Aussie Family.:rose::heart:

I'll leave the cooking to KoalaBear so no one ends up in the ER :D

I don't know a lot about cars but i think this cars look funny .

This talk about beetles made me remember when i was in school one of the teachers there had that kind of car, he was a very tall man also and he looked funny driving this.. one day some of the boys at school lift the car and took it to the next street it was so funny to see the teacher face when he walk out after school and thought the car was gone :D

anyway almost weekend hope everyone have a good weekend,
i hope mine will be better then my day today i dont know why but i feel upset for no reason and nothing has happen today

Hi Valia
Sometimes we get so used to feeling a certain way that when there's no reason to feel it, it just keeps happening. Try taking some deep breaths, maybe make a coffee (or have a drink ;) ) and think good thoughts - you know Gil and I care about you! *hugs*

hot and sticky here in the sunshine state - puts fan on turbo boost setting :D
