yeah its for all pensioners and familys who recieve tax support part A will get $1000 a child.. nice and handy right on Xmas

hiya :)

long time, no see/speak/type..... how's you going?
hope everything's totally cool and wonderful for you and yours

i'll believe the tax bonus when i actually see it - until then it's just another flash from our new govt.

Evening all,

ICR is that really you or is that another phantom pic...my av really is me, I just use the human to get around the place

I just found out a close friend is very sick also found out last week the doctor is happy with my numbers, I'm so glad I could make his day, and that I'm making the drug companies happy....I also found out that once you reach a certain age they love to put you on medication whether you really need it or not....I'm sure in a few short years everyone will be on a pill just in case they develop something.

I used to go to doctors and they would ask what medication I was taking, I would always say none, they would look at me strange as if I was lying. Sometimes they would repeat the questions assuming I would come up with a different answer. Well if I get asked that again, I finally have something to say.

and how much of this splurge is going to single medium-income workers who aren't looking to buy a house anytime soon? hmmph :(

I hope so, that money would be a great help.

Would be a help to us too, Gil's looking at getting a new computer.
The last carer bonus went on getting the car fixed after the bingle I had, plus new tyres.
The power bill is almost $300, plus contents insurance bill due in Nov of $200.
It never ends!

mate you're screwed, although I know the feeling the last budget did nothing for me except a tax cut that everyone else got

Evening Bandit, cute av..which reminds me I should get some dinner.

Yep them bills keep-a-coming. Getting a bit chilly sitting here so I'm off. No shorts after 9pm seems to be the way to go...what no... I mean warmer not less

Welcome to how the pensioners felt when the last budget came out

We survive on less than $25,000 a year. I read somewhere that someone on a $40,000 a year wage was considered to be "low income" - what does that make us???

Yeah it's me. Sorry I have no idea what you mean by phantom pics or using humans to get around the place though..

Hi Peoples

Hope everyones well in this great land of ours , dont even matter which side your on.

Call me Larrican Irwin from now on , come home from work and there in my front garden is a ..................... farkin snake ........................... urghhhhhhhhhhh.

So after summoning all the courage I could ( and stupidity ) got around it into my house , then thought how to get rid of it , so again courage or whatever you wanna call it , picked it up with my 8 Iron and put it into a garbage bag ( gotta love discovery channel for showing me how 0 lol anyway the short of it is one more snake released back into bush. Even though they give me the heebies I couldnt think of killing it , lucky I reckon it was dopey still and not aggresive at all.

Can you imagine a snake on your front lawn in the middle of suberbia .

Ok everyones have fun.

The bonus pension money is dinkum , its the govt trying to get everyone spending up by xmas to try to get the economy back right again, roll on interest rate cuts too.

Should be good for all us mortagees , hey Pert;)

:rose:
Yep, no kids, no house, no real "boost" at the moment. I'm guessing that there will be a tax cut next July. Considering I'm on the verge of having two mortgages, I'm praying that I don't lose my job.

Would be a help to us too, Gil's looking at getting a new computer.

It's always the big things - like major car repairs - which really hurt people on pensions. It's good to hear that the bonus is already finding a good purpose.

Well done Larrican! I have known 6 different dogs to die from snake bites (right in suburbia). Fortunately for me, I just get bobtail lizards.

*waves hello to all*

 Luckily the only reptiles I've seen in our yard have been little lizards/skinks in the garden rustling among the leaves :)

Yes well, we'll only be spending what we have to, the rest will stay in the bank for emergencies. I'm just sending money to family in NZ this year, the postage is a killer to send parcels it cost me $46 to post two of them last year

Something to think about

While we were enjoying a couple of beers on Manly wharf on Sunday, Ladybird mentioned something that not a lot of people give any thought to. She said that the Aussies forum is really a tribute to Greg, the guy who started it back in 2001. This forum is probably the longest continuous thread on Literotica. We have nearly 9,000 pages created over 7 years.
In that time, there have been many friendships started through this thread. Friendships that may not have started without this medium. There have also been quite a few relationships created through Aussies meeting other people on this forum, and a number of those relationships have resulted in some very happy marriages.
Aussies have had the opportunity to visit other Aussies in all the different states of our vast country to share a drink, exchange ideas, celebrate the good times, & the bad. And all through having met on this forum.
This forum has been a great way to interact with our fellow Aussies and, in many ways, it has been educational for a lot of us.
Greg had already left by the time I first visited here several years ago, which is a shame. I’d really like to buy him a drink, shake his hand and congratulate him for creating something that has had a positive affect on so many people, of various backgrounds, for so long.
So, while you’re keeping in touch with your friends on this forum, take a moment to think of the guy who set this all up as a way for you to do what you’re doing right now. :)

Honey I'm home!

Hello lovely peoples, I'm back home after a much needed R&R in Sydney. And Sydney Scorpio is quite right about friendships formed here on this thread. A few people know of the really difficult time I've had lately, which is the reason for my escape to Sydney. It's my friends here that I turned too when I needed some time out, and they didn't disappoint me or let me down.

TopCat and his lovely lady drove from the nether regions of NSW to stay at my hotel with me over the weekend. We walked and walked, shopped, ate & drank and took in many of the sights around Sydney. They also sat and listened while I vented my anger about recent goings on, offered some sage advice and hugged me. I just wish we lived closer cos they are good people.

Gil and Bandit took the time to join us for dinner, drinks and laughs - thanks guys, it was great to see you again.

And to Sydney Scorpio, the lovely man that got the ball rolling and supported me during tough times - you're a honey and I'm so glad we finally met. Coming to see me after a long night shift, taking me out for the day and night, never once complaining when I'd pop into a shop for a browse, taking me to a German restaurant for lunch where we shared the largest meal I've ever seen, pointing out the sights from the Manly ferry, laughing with me, drinking beer with me and then taking me to dinner atop the tallest building I've been on - you have made my journey back to inner peace smoother and shorter. You sir, are wonderful, and I thank you.

So that's it, here I am again back in Perfect Perth (which is in the Wonderful West) and it's summer already.

But getting back to what SS said, many friendships and relationships have been formed amongst regular posters to this thread. I think it's a tribute to the thread and all of us, that the thread has attracted genuine people looking for genuine friendship, should it be online or in real life. It has been a success in many ways, and continues. Ain't that grand. :)
