i'm on at a reasonable time for a change!
cold as hell here - and yet more cold fronts due. (think i was a little spoiled during my year in the west!) hail, rain, wind and snow forecast for the next week.
and this is spring!

It's been raining here for about a week, with more to come. Tis very unusual weather, perhaps we can blame global warming, that hole in the ozone layer or even live sheep export for it. Who knows?

but the 2 cold fronts are [apparently] going to combine before they get here....
top temps in my town have been between 11 and 14 deg.

HIM has just been diagnosed with carpel tunnel in both hands - not good.
op is on the agenda, but thinking we'll try and get both done at the same time... that way, even tho HE'll be helpless for a few weeks, at least HE will be back up and running sooner!

i'm kinda over the enormous electric bill from ducted heating - so now i just tell everyone to get another jumper!
stupid cold weather should have been gone a few weeks ago anyway

I'm dreading the next power bill. The heater's been on a lot this winter, especially since Gil feels the cold so much. We do get a pensioner discount and a discount for having the dialysis machine, but I have a feeling it's going to be around the $200 mark - a lot when you're on a pension!

well to tell the truth, being a kiwi, i'm more a union fan, and the international season has wound up for the year. but i have got a ticket to the broncos game tomorrow, should be LOTS of fun

a lot when you've been trying to save enough to get an operation done privately.... if we wait for the public system, the initial appt with the surgeon won't be till december and the surgery wouldn't be till april next year.
so, in order to get back to work asap we have to go private - a cost of about $5000.

it would be a LOT easier if i could also go to work - but HIS daughter is so untrustworthy that she cannot be left alone in the house.
given that, the only times i could work are school hours mon to fri, no weekends.
and jobs like that are extremely thin on the ground - i know, because i've been trying to find one for a few months now.

there's always something missing from the formula for an ideal life, eh? could be worse, could be in high school... again. mind you, looking back KHS weren't too bad at all. better than Basra!

KHS was totally awesome when i was there!
i remember all the cool stuff - like letting off an orange smoke flare in drama, blowing up the tree on the westside of the oval, cutting apart the metalwork teacher's car and welding it round the lightpole.... fun times!

sometimes i wish my kids could have experienced a cool highschool life...

despite my no-life post, i'm actually good
life rolls on and every day comes round....

i remember all the cool stuff - like letting off an orange smoke flare in drama, blowing up the tree on the westside of the oval, cutting apart the metalwork teacher's car and welding it round the lightpole.... fun times!
