Uhm . . . re the funeral . . . it may be an idea to consider going to the funeral . . . for YOUR sake rather than any display of support for him.

Funerals are to provide closure for the living . . . the dead are past caring.

Judging by your post, regardless of whatever happened in the past, you still acknowledge him as your father, and put callously, you need to go and see for yourself that he is really dead and in his box.

At times like these, people cry . . . society allows men to cry at funerals

Thank you very much for the kind words I have made my decision as he is in Cairns QLD and I am in WA as well as I dont have the money to take such a trip but I have sent a telagram for the funeral and I just want to put it all behind me for now and move on with my life ..... but a very heart felt thanks
