and whats the question?

Okay. Here's the scenario.

A kiwi residing in NSW for several years gets in trouble with the law. They jump the ditch instead of going to court. They now have a warrant for their arrest. A year later, the same person wants to go to QLD for a holiday.

The question is this: Do the different States monitor who is coming and going from NZ, and will the red flag be waving when this person arrives in Brisbane?

Just curious. ;)

not 100%sure but i do know that customs and immigration are federal departments, not state. my wife might know-she's a lawyer. what was the charge and how long ago?
with the terrorist threat these days i would suspect the borders would be watched pretty closly-he might get caught in the net just from bad luck

there is a very good chance that they would be stopped on arival in OZ.

There was a lady just who commited robbery in Vic then fled to Qld
it wasnt worth the effort to extradite her back to Vic but she was stoped and had to face the charges when she returned to Vic for a holiday and that was 15 years later. in the end she was given a suspended sentance as she could prove she had changed her ways by keeping her record clean for the 15 years

Yeah I wouldnt either. I don't think it was the first offence. By the sounds of it he was looking at going for an unplanned holiday.....

I'll find out how long ago it was. Is there a cut off point or do they just keep coming after ya? LOL

Hey babe.... my batteries are all recharged and I'm as ready as I can be for the real world now. Picacho has a piece of paradise. Sitting on his back verandah looking over the natural bush of his back paddock is just magic. I spent a lot of time walking around, eating healthy and sleeping well. It's all good. If you're ever over this way, I'd strongly suggest you wander up there and experience it all for yourself.

ps.... great pub there too!
