AMD is a superior chipset (IMHO) it's just that Microsoft isnt as AMD friendly (wonder how much Intel pay them) As for Nvidia, in all the recent reviews their latest cards leave ATI for dead. I have a mixture here, 2 AMD and 1 Intel and all have there quirks.

In the early days the most used processor was a 386 dx40 (AMD) Intel only made an sx 33. A lot of people including technicians arent aware of that, ask them who made that chipset and I bet they say Intel.... was just Intels marketing plan and their partnership with microsoft that got them ahead, but thats all changing now.
