Got a Perth question for you
I was talking to someone about a nice train trip I had once to Melb. Had a nice little cabin and everything and it really was a cool trip
Anyways we got to talking about a train trip to Perth from Syd, Of course alot longer trip. What I was wondering is do you know where the rail line goes? Would it be a nice trip? there is alot of absolute nothing between Syd and Perth.

I think maybe I would like to go if this person would like to come with me.

That was a subtle hint incase the person in question missed it :p

Once, long ago, I was looking at moving over to perth and did some investigation into how to get my stuff over.

from memory, it is sydney to adelaide via one train, then a swap to the Adelaide to perth one.... I think... not really sure though since i have the memory of a goldfish sometimes :)

This is it my 100th post on Lit

It's taken a while but here I am!
Thanks to Ladybird for her assistance *BIG hugs and kisses*

Dragonette....Please look after yourself you are to important to so many ppl here and if you need anything just ask....OK.

Azure....They wouldn't tell you how bored you will get on the trip
I did the trip to Adelaide form Sydney to meet a friend and it took 25 hours with a 2 hour stop over in Broken Hill.Due to lack of money I had the cheap seat and body odour of some was that bad I spent most of my time in the smoke room. The food was ok but over priced but you have no choice but to eat it or starve.

Congrats on the 100

I guess like anything you get what you pay for...If I was to make the trip I would make sure I had enough cash to have the comforts...No way I would be sitting in a seat for 3 nights in close quarters with people who hadn't showered for 3 days

However looking at the prices it is alot of money I will have to think about it

Good morning/afternoon everyone !! Oh.. I can't wait for daylight saving to end.. the time difference is just too great during summer..

AzureSky my sister and brother in law have taken the trip on the Indian Pacific, and loved it. It's something I've always wanted to do, but the cost has prevented me!

Gil_T2.. wow !! you've made.. Congratulations! So when are we going to see your av??

Hey, a TRAIN trip!

Hi AzureSky

I was talking to someone about a nice train trip I had once to Melb. Had a nice little cabin and everything and it really was a cool trip.

That they are!

Anyways we got to talking about a train trip to Perth from Syd, Of course alot longer trip. What I was wondering is do you know where the rail line goes?

LOL, well, being a rail enthusiast, I can tell you a heap (or bore you rigid, as the case may be!)...for example, the train rolls through the senic Blue Mountains for the first bit of the trip, and then across the western Plains of NSW, to Broken Hill. Take the time to do the tour of Broken Hill, too.

Into SA, the terrain is fairly flat, though the entertainment is good, on board the train.

Heading still further west, the train crosses the Nullarbor Plain, which has the world's Longest Straight piece of railway track: just short of 500 km dead straight.

Here's a Link to a Map:

http://www.artc.com.au/about.htm

The URL for the company that runs the Indian Pacific (note to our O'seas visitors and / or honourary Aussies: so named after the two oceans it goes between: the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean) is:

http://www.gsr.com.au/

Have a Look at:

http://www.gsr.com.au/indian/index.htm

for the itinerary of the journey.

Would it be a nice trip?

HELL YES!

there is alot of absolute nothing between Syd and Perth.

Yes, but the COMPANY one gets is the BEST reason for going, plus the "side trips" that one can do.

I think maybe I would like to go if this person would like to come with me.

Wish it were me, but I dun think so!

That was a subtle hint incase the person in question missed it :p

Yup, it DEFINITELY ain't me!

Oh, well...any girls interested in wetsuits, out there?

*chuckle* heya OzSteamer

k i am impressed.... and it does look like a cool trip.

*whack* ouch! what was that? a sledge hammer maybe?

Hi everyone :)
Ladybird I do hope you get your holiday maybe when I get back it will inspire you more.
Dragonette I hope all goes well for you, your lucky has to change soon, good thoughts sent your way.
Pleasureu your such a sweetie and if your lucky, if I ever get to 100 posts I might reveal my cherrylips to you
I was going to get the train to Melbourne but it was heaps cheaper to fly and quicker too, plus I thought I would be safer travelling by plane by myself as well. Friends of mine drove across to Perth a few years ago loved the trip, its what you make of it I think.
Hugs to all

morning Cherrylips_au.

i found your song this morning on my Beautiful Garbage CD.

I never noticed before, but one of the better songs on it is actually called "cherry lips" :)

Now, time to go listen to another woman's song ;)

;) ;)

BTW, LOL, take the TWINETE room,...it has ensuite shower, plus double bunks.

If you've got HEAPS of money, get the Great South Pacific Express:

http://www.traveltrain.qr.com.au/

Click on the "menu bar" to the left, under "Rail Services". And be sitting DOWN when you read the prices, too.

I'd love to go, but I'm too broke to even have a LOOK on board!

Train travel...

Hi cherrylips_au

<sigh>
I was going to get the train to Melbourne but it was heaps cheaper to fly

LOL, not for much longer!

and quicker too, plus I thought I would be safer travelling by plane by myself as well.

LOL, obviously you haven't tried to book on Ansett over the last few days...at least the trains actually still RUN!

Friends of mine drove across to Perth a few years ago loved the trip, its what you make of it I think.

Very true.

Hello again everyone..

AzureSky.. that train trip does look tempting. It's something I've wanted to do for a long long time.

Cherrylips, I'm thinking hard about Bali, but truth be known, I think I might hold on to my money and go visit my son in Guernsey later in the year. He turns 30 in October and I'd like to be there for that. I'll also have a brand new (3 months) grandchild there as well. Boy will the tears flow!

You know, you bring your children up to be independant, and when they are... it hurts like hell..

OzSteamer you are a true man of mystery. Who'd ever have picked you for a rail enthusiast? And sorry pet.. wetsuits still don't do much for me..

Listen Mr Duck.. with regard to daylight saving.. we've had several referendums here to let the 'people' decide.

Each time sense prevailed.. and all those who were afraid of their curtains fading.. or of the cows not knowing when to come in for milking, voted in their droves.. and won.

Whereas us dummies who liked the thought of an extra hour of sunshine at the end of the day, got it wrong again!

That's what comes with an ageing population. There's more of them than us.. so their viewpoint is heard loudest. Can't wait til my turn!!

I need some assistance...can anyone help?

Hi to all:

My last story has NOT been accepted yet, due to it "not being original work". I tried to contact some of the "volunteer editors", but have gottten exactly zippo in response.

1) can anyone direct me as to where I can find someone to assist in editing said story, who actually REPLIES to emails?

2) Can anyone suggest how I may "get this one past" the guys who run Literotica so as it gets submitted?

I'd appreciate any suggestions (kind ones I mean).

Oz

hehe OzSteamer, with regards to the sledgehammer.... hey a guy can dream can't he? ;)

OzSteamer...International Man of...????

Hi Ladybird

OzSteamer you are a true man of mystery. Who'd ever have picked you for a rail enthusiast?

Yeah, I am also interested in astronomy...I'm building my own telescope, and I'm interested in photography, and sailing (actually Rescue Boating), and cooking...and I walk 50 km in a day (though NOT over the Summer...too hot)...I guess I won't find any girls out ther who like such interetss. Oh, well, their loss.

And sorry pet...wetsuits still don't do much for me...

I'm starting to suspect that the ENTIRE female Aussie population is similarly unenthused.

Nothing I can do about that. 'Cept give up, and stop annoying people. :(
