G'Day all....just came across this great site and this thread...i know it probably in the middle of a conversation...just letting you know that there is another aussie out here

Cheers Lemel
Welcome Lemel

It's very quiet here tonight.

I keep telling everyone, all you need is a dancing banana.

Especially if you're a guy. They tend to become a focal point.

Want one? A dancing banana that is. I hear on the intense dissapointment line that you already have a very nice guy.

So what have you guys been up to lately?

And why is it so quiet in here? What are people doing at this hour of the night, sleeping or something????

Am assuming that this is directed at me!!

I would love a dancing banana.

As for the very nice guy, I met nostress here online (melbourne thread actually) and bodly sent him some very personal photos (he returned the favour) and we have been trying to meet ever since. But we have 2 ex's, 2 jobs (different working hours), 5 kids and my part time study slowing down our meeting. We will meet eventually and who knows.

As for what have I been up to. Work, study, kids, housework etc etc. Am feeling a little miserable so came on line for my lit fix before crashing into my lonely bed. Even the kids aren't here at the moment.

"In the absence of children shall a parent know true though transient peace."

You can have that. Wishing polite though incredibly jealous luck to you two, then. I finally figured out what the problems were with my stories, so in a couple of days, hopefully, they'll be online. I'd almost be nervous if i wasn't so intensly smashooed. I'm all alone in the country for the whole weekend up here in SPC land. So where abouts in Melbourne are you? No fear of a sudden visit, just curious. Eastern Suburbs, Northy, Westy? Please don't say Peninsula girl...

On the road to Geelong - actually.

Am really looking forward to reading your stories.

I am sure the members of the Aussie thread will be aware of when we meet ( chance would be a fine thing) and will be made aware of how we get on, no gory details though just a hazy outline. I never kiss and tell

Hi Gorgeous
I also have my car back now so can do the whole postie thing and promise that not rain, sleet or snow will keep me from your door, of course if I hit all that sleet and snow I am going to be bloody cold but am sure we can work out a way to warm up.

I also read you might be making it to this years G&G, I am sure you will love it as we debate some of the more important subjects that control our lifes, but you should be warned there is one gentleman (HAHAHA) that tends to let his hands wander a little bit more then he should. of course I dont think we should be mentioning names here so you might just be better off to stay safely near me.

LOL Go read "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" trilogy, all 5 books of it.

42 is the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything.

for year now I have been telling my kids the meaning of life was 47...can you imagine how silly I feel. I was a huge fan of the old hitchhiker TV series and cant wait to see the movie.
do you think I should go wake the kids up to let them know the abnswer to life is 42 and NOT 47 ???

evening aussies :)

i'm having dinner cooked for me tonight..... ahhhhhh - the delights of a night off!
chilli con carne, done with extra jalapenos.
burn, baby, burn!

ladybird - hope the move was smooth and not traumatic! (i hate moving, and have done it too many times to count! i've moved so many times now, that i have learnt not to collect too much stuff. i'm so minimalist, i'm tao!!!)

bertrande - glad to see you're taking precautions for a meet with an online person (even if it is our perfect gentleman, nostress!)
here's hoping the rest of us get to meet you at the aussies g'n'g in october!

dracoa - i'm planning to go see hitchikers as soon as it opens, but i'm a little wary of 'remakes'. i have been assured though, by a friend in the industry, that this one's a goodie!

I plan on seeing it the 29th. I can then come back and let everyone know what I thought. :) And I wouldn't ruin the movie.

LOL Up to you on waking the kids. I managed to remember it while reading the Hitchhiker's books and The Silmarillion. But if I went a few years without reading I'd probally forget myself.

all is stable for me at the moment - life is just ticking over gently.
studio plans are coming along fine - i should know definitively within the next 7 days whether my business proposal has been accepted as is, then it's all go :)
(i do not want to work more than 3 and a half days per week, and want to work on a profit/percentage rather than have to pay rent/overheads. hopefully, the studio will see that this is a good plan, because then they don't have to pay me more for my equipment/expertise. and it gives me a good operating margin.)

have you walked through the house shouting "42! it's 42!!!...." yet???
i think you should *nods gravely* - these are the leaders of tomorrow, and they should know the truth!

:D

I'm not sure if we did or not. If we did I never saw it. Though I wouldn't mind seeing it.

at the time it was the best thing on TV, would be interesting to see it again now just to see the old attempts at special effects
