Hi Gorgeous
so good to have you back here with us again, not sure about the warm weather though it got to a top of 13 today and has been raining non stop since 2am
Goodness, that sounds more like winter than summer weather hon.

This time last week, it was -6c and snowing where I was. Today it's low 30's with 38 expected tomorrow. A dramatic change.

It's nice to be back, sweet man.

Hi LB great to see you home safe and sound  :rose:

Trev we've been sweltering here, lots of thunder last night too and one this afternoon scared this little Kiwi - lots of flashes and loud crashes, Gil was dozing on the couch and I had to go snuggle in to him......;)

OK any excuse will do! :p :D

Thanks for the list Gil, 28 and already absent minded, I really do have a lot to look forward too! :p

There is a bonus to age as things don't stress you as much, well I should say for me.

Let it slide is my catch cry these days.

The Aussie story of Noah and the Ark .....

If Noah had lived in Australia, the Lord would have spoken to Noah and
said,"In one year, I am going to make it rain and cover the whole earth
with water until all flesh is destroyed. I want you to save the righteous
people and two of every kind of living thing on the earth.
Therefore, I am commanding you to build an Ark."
In a flash of lightning, God delivered the specifications for an Ark.
In fear and trembling, Noah took the plans and agreed to build the Ark.
"Remember" said the Lord, "You must complete the Ark and bring everything aboard in one year."
Exactly one year later, fierce storm clouds covered the earth and all the
seas of the earth went into a tumult.
The Lord saw Noah was sitting in his front yard weeping.
"Noah," He shouted. "Where is the Ark?"
"Lord, please forgive me!" cried Noah, but I haven't made any milestones
on Your Construction Programme. "I did my best, but there were big problems. First, I had to get a permit for construction and your plans did not comply with the codes. I had to hire an engineering firm and redraw the plans. Then I got into a fight with Occupational Health & Safety Commission over whether or not, the Ark needed to be erected using certified scaffolding, or if a fire sprinkler system and flotation devices had to be installed. Then my neighbour objected, claiming I was violating zoning ordinances by building the Ark in my front yard, so I had to lodge a Rezoning Application with the City Council and it is now with the Land & Environment Court."
"I had problems getting enough wood for the Ark, because there was a ban on cutting trees to protect the Kookaburra. I finally convinced the
Department of Conservation & Land Management that I needed the wood to save the Kookaburras. However, National Parks & Wildlife won't let me catch any Kookaburras, so, no Kookaburras."
"The carpenters formed a union and went out on strike. I had to negotiate a settlement with the Department of Industrial Relations before anyone would pick up a saw or a hammer. Now, I have 16 carpenters on the Ark, but still no kookaburras."
"When I started rounding up the other animals, I got sued by the RSPCA.
They objected to me only taking two of each kind aboard.
Just when I got the suit dismissed, the EPA notified me that I could not
complete the Ark without filing in an Environmental Impact Assessment on "Your proposed world flood." "They didn't take very kindly to the idea that they had no jurisdiction over the conduct of the Creator of the universe. Then the Department of Land and Water Conservation demanded a map of the proposed new flood plain. So I sent them a complete set of UBDs and Gregory's. Right now, I am trying to resolve a complaint filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission that I am practising discrimination by not taking godless, unbelieving people aboard!"
"The Australian Tax Office has seized my assets, claiming that I'm
building the Ark in preparation to flee the country to avoid paying taxes.
I also have to wait for the registration of my ABN for the GST.
I just got a notice from the Waterways Authority that I owe them some kind of user tax and failed to register the Ark as a "recreational water
craft.."
"I also need a Boat Drivers Licence, but they are debating about how to
classify the craft. I am getting continual visits from GreenPeace, the RSPCA, WorkCover, the Sheriff's Office, Environmental Auditors and numerous other Government departments."
"Finally, the Australian Council for Civil Liberties got the courts to
issue an injunction against further construction of the Ark, saying that
since God is flooding the earth, it is a religious event and therefore
unconstitutional.
I really don't think I can finish the Ark for another 5 or 6 years!" Noah
wailed.
The sky began to clear, the sun began to shine and the seas began to calm.

A rainbow arched across the sky. Noah looked up hopefully.
"You mean you are not going to destroy the earth, Lord?"
"No" said the Lord sadly, "I don't have to. The Aussie Bureaucracy has beaten me to it!
But I'll send a drought instead."

WELCUM home Ladybird:rose: x24 but take it easy in the heat, you need to re adjust to the climate.

heheheheh . . . so you have still to see the world from the top of Ayers Rock, walk through the subtropical rainforest at Dorrigo down to Crystall Falls . . . see the Great Barrier Reef (before pollution kills it off) . . . walk to the top of Bluff Mountain in the Warrumbungles National Park and look down on the eagles circling below . . . stand just west of Silverton and look west at the Flinders Ranges on the horizon 250 miles away . . . catch a ferry to Manly across the beautiful Sydney Harbour . . . stand at the top of Mount Wellington and look at most of Tasmania . . . walk Cradle Mountain . . . oh well, still a few sights to see . . .

Birthdays & other dates...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Gil! I do hope your day is an enjoyable one... well, with Bandit there, I'm sure it will be ;)

And it's good to know I'm not the only Aquarian around here - my birthday's just round the corner... and it's a milestone, too :sigh:

(If you want to know when... check the 4th prime number)

As for the G&G, Orlanth - I'm not sure if it's set in stone yet, but I recall Gil was thinking about the weekend 15-16/10... which is too far away right now ;)

Ok, well I wont be therre then. Earlist I can by Sydney is late November or early December.

one of those days

my Ex wife was diagnosed today with Bowel cancer, dont have all the details yet but have been told it doesnt look good, wont know just how bad things are till more tests are done on Tuesday. not sure how much impact it will have on the kids but will make sure they understand all the possabiltys

then went to pick my car up after taking it in for a tune up, turns out it needs a lot more then just a tune, looks like a complete engine rebuild so I am restricted to just two wheels for the next few weeks
