ROFLMAO as our WQ is a loverly lady but "GRACIOUS" never entered my mind at all....... although.....

heh - unless you count the phrase "Goodness gracious me, is wq doing that again?"

:D

I am an AUSSIE & it wasn't till i was in the US & heard our anthem that it had any affect on my pride, there is something about being overseas & hearing the Aussie anthem playing to get the spirit pumped.

BANDIT:heart: & I will be off to a local park where they have free entertainment & a huge fireworks display so we can both have a great day perving, who knows maybe BANDIT:heart: will find yet another lady to seduce there.:D

HaHaHa BANDIT:heart: just asked what a GIRT was & I had no bloody answer for her  any takers want to help out here?

Well.. If it were a G&G..
Bandit would be "girt by guys"..

Does that make sense?

HuggleZ

Thought it was time to surface again... though speaking of girts... I only discovered on the end of year parade that our school has taught the kids "ringed" by sea!!! When did that happen? Who threw out the girt? Surely it's not that hard just to teach kids that is means surrounded?

in the case of the national anthem, the word 'girt' is used instead of 'surrounded'.
that's the simplest explanation.

trust us to use a word no-one else in the english-speaking world knows!

Yeah I know it makes no sense , but it confuses the hell out of all my yank friends.:D

KISS I'm sure if they did a survey they would find out the majority of Aussies don't have a clue what girt was & I'll admit till the explanation here I had no idea.

Just had a wicked thought for replacing GIRT with SQUIRT for Warrior Queen & when BANDIT:heart: gets her Aussie rights she too can use this.:D

Hope everyone has had a great Australia Day...................

Well sheesh, it was just another day to me because I was so busy with house stuff.

But geez, I vanish for months, come back, and Akasha's gotten sexier, so Australia Day has definitely been great! :D

It's not confusing at all. Girt about was used many a year ago to mean surrounded by ones enemies or by a protective ring of warriors. That's not that hard to understand. :D
