*grins*
I definitely learned my lesson - the matress protector I now own cost more than the matress itself!
I had it shipped from Europe. This thing will stop a monsoon ;)

I just showed BANDIT:heart: your post & she said "Probably need to", we are both LOLing.

My mummy hass been in Europe for the last 2 months, but even from there I got 5 or 6 texts a day.
Like I said, I do love her dearly, and I would be extremely sad if we didn't have the closeness we have... but sometimes I want a week off from the calls/texts

I know what you mean as when my mum dosen't call each day I'm kind of glad for the break as i hear the same things I heard about the 2 days of calls prior but I also worry & end up calling her. She went with the neighbours to meet the NSW Rugby team on a fan day at a park & crashed out being taken to hospital, she has had several other times this has happened since then & she is over 80yo now & still thinks she is 35yo always doing to much she shouldn't be doing, yes it's good for her to be active but she needs to slow down. She went to her long time GP recently complaining that she can't do what she used to & got grumpy when told she is getting old so just get used to it & pace yourself.
Dad used to call her "ICAN" & not only could she she also did a lot of things around the house & even working on the car. In her younger days she rode motorbike, a Vincent Black Shadow 1000cc no less & raced & won against guys.

lol - i was giggling when i read that ^ and the man asked me what was so funny.
I told him the story, and i think he may have ruptured something :D

My house is insane!
We just had an arm-wrestling comp to decide what's for dinner
We're having wq's special shepherds pie (yes, I changed the recipe as usual) followed by hazelnut torte.
Only in my home could food be decided in this way :D

Menu sounds great, how do I get an invite. I will bring the wine.

Home alone so looks like it is going to be take out for me.

Takeaway is not always a bad thing - I have this indian guy who makes the best vindaloo on the planet.
As good a cook as I am, I can't make it taste the way his does.

Umm - arm wrestling to decide a menu? Guess I'd be eating whatever you decided... although shepherd's pie does sound good :)

No invite, you would have finished it before I got there anyway, So it will be Chinese, the best curry shop is at least an hours drive away, and I haven't eaten today.

Probably a nice satay and rice with a bottle of Tiger to keep the Asian theme.

Gotta love bosses that expect workers to do long hours like that, I had a boss who didn't think it was a problem so I told him to wear his old clothes & come join us for one of these long work days & that was the last time he asked us to do it & we all got bonuses when the job was completed, we did 3 days of 12 hour shifts.

OOH BOY!! Gil, that beggar is in my sights!!!!:mad::mad:

He turns up yesterday taking a shift - so, he's in place of a usual employee. Not ONE PERSON got their 1/2 hr break. We did get one 10 min. He swans around getting in the way and gets cranky because he doesn't get on coffee - he's just not fast enough and knows it. THEN, the wee shit leaves early and leaves the team down a person for close. He needs a quick slap for that, you don't let your team down.

He's back in tomorrow, taking another shift on a day that'll be busier than yesterday. I can feel a 'discussion' coming......

A dinner to say you're great is fine.... it would have been better spent to keep enough staff for this weekend. We socialise amongst ourselves anyway.

This tirade could go on forever. It's not often i get my Irish up - but she's in full swing tonight.:eek:

Hope everyone is having a great night.:rose:

Maybe supplies, while you're out, for tomorrow?? :)

LOL
The cherubs have their own ways of chosing these things, as well. I just stand back, shove in some ear plugs and let them go.

Well I did have breakfast, and it was by choice.

No cause for alarm, I have plenty of reserves, not only in the cupboard but on me to fall back on. :D

Quite a capable cook, but if I can wangle an invitation why cook when someone else will. ;)

So who won the arm wrestling?
seeing he may have ruptured something & you with your elbow the kids might have had an advantage.

X-man  way to long since we last saw you here, hope all is well with you up north.

Have you cleaned up the bike got it all tuned & ready for a big season of riding?

You should vent more Frisky, it helps relieve the stress & we don't mind at all.

Glad to hear you had breakfast, most important meal of the day & when I was single I often had my most important meal of the day for all 3 major meals of the day.

Heya Gil (and everyone else) - things are reasonable at the moment, and the weather is improving, so :)

Bike's clean & tuned, but work seems determined to interfere with the riding... hoping for a bit of a break in November, but we'll see.

As for next May, our roster isn't set that far ahead...

Put in now for that time off! so they know your not going to be there in May, makes it easier to set the rosters that way, be great to catch up as it's been a LOOOONG time.

Just wondering if anyone is still a fan of Meatloaf after he did his live death scene at the AFL final?

At least the NRL final got it closer to right although I thought the imported female singer Kelly Clarkson & the Nrl also had an Aussie band too Eskimo Joe who out did the imported flop.

Always thought Meat was more of a dramatist than a singer. Great voice but look at his stuff. Fully staged mega productions. He's a perfectionist, as well. He would be veeerry disappointed with that performance.

Well being a perfectionist he should of known he wasn't up to doing the spot at the AFL final & it wasn't like he didn't get over paid $600,000 !

Interesting to see the number of tickets for Meatloaf on ebay now.

It's all very sad isn't it? It's as if we're seeing his decline.

I can never understand why this country seems to think if an artist (of any kind) is from overseas they have to be better!!!!????

The wealth of talent we produce, that struggle to earn a decent income, and we spend mega bucks for someone who couldn't even understand the venue and audience???? happens all the time. you'd think we'd wise up.

Well his last visit here flopped with the blame put on his musos & the venues sound systems, this might have been Ok to blame on venue but he blamed them all.

As for Aussie talent Doc with or without the Angels, Cold Chisel, Eskimo Joe who did a great job with the NRL final & so many other more modern bands.

Bring back the old pub band venuses, a couple of $$$ in & we got to see the best bands around the country.

So how are you after dealing with your wanker boss?

Judging by public opinion in Melburne today he won't be invited back.

But have to agree with Trisk the MCG on Grand Final Day doesn't give the guy the chance to do the big production.

Fortuately I do have his music on CDs, they still sound great
