Redblooded, you're talking to a Guinness girl here! And the Guinness here doesn't taste anywhere near as good as it does in England or Ireland. While in England I tried lots of different ales, it was great to have such a wide choice. And oh, the pubs.. I miss them more than anything I think!!

Well I'm alive...Little bruised from a awkward landing....I have to tell you Skydiving is something everyone should try once...

What a compliment...thankyou...People sometimes tell me I look young for my age ..I put it down to maybe luck in the gene pool..but also..Dr Lewinns private formula...12 glasses of water a day...Total fruit , vegetable,yoghurt diet with the occassional seafood , One glass of good red wine each night and a array of herbal and natural vitamins...Tai chi...work hard and live fairly clean I guess...anyway thankyou for the lovely compliment..you made my day..A special Happy Valentines to you Big hug

Thankyou for the kind words...You know we should arrange some kind of huge get together in the near future..Maybe if I ever get my renovations finished ...it has been a work in progress for the last 2 years..we can all pitch in and cook at my place..Then again thinking of the size of my kitchen maybe we could hire a venue and everyone can bring their fav dish....lol

As for the Dive...when you first jump/pushed...lol...out of the plane..oh yeah definate MY GOD i'm falling ...felt like I screamed for a few minutes which was like spilt seconds I guess...when the chute opens..its just pure adrelin...of course landings are a tad rough especially being tandem I guess...But hey..who am I to complain having a gorgeous instructor fall ontop of me.....

Get together yes... but when I'm there please. I so want to meet you all. I feel that this thread is almost a home for me. I have friends here with whom I can be honest and frank, and who have supported and helped me when I've needed it. Big hugs are in order.

Talk about Melbourne weather... after more than a week of mid 30's.. it's raining in Perth right now. Not that I'm complaining.. I don't care about the washing on the line. It's nice and cool now and the air has that lovely smell to it of recent rain. Nice snuggling weather for Valentines.

Hey Ozsteamer I can't get past relating wetsuits to days spent hanging around surf clubs. Have to admit the sights weren't to bad on the eyes but my problem is the smell if the don't get dried proberly, but I will read your story too.

LOL, OK, thanks...for some reason the blasted email notification ain't working...

But it's glad to see you are at least some way toward agreeing that girls (and I suppose some people think it about us guys, too) are just sooooo good looking in wetsuits!

LOL, the problem of "wetsuit maintenance" is one I can relate to (oddly enough)...

I know what you mean about the smell: wetsuits left in a soggy heap can end up smelling like like the cat mated in it, LOL!

The problem is fixed by washing them in an anti-bacterial wash, called (you'll be floored by the depth of imagination, here): Wetsuit Wash"

This also fixes any problems with "wetsuit rash", LOL, as that's caused when the bacteria living on the inside of the suit cause sirritation on one's skin. LOL, oddly the way to fix such a rash is to use UNprocessed honey, as the Yanks have found.

The Number two killer of wetsuits also contributes to the smell: releiving one's bladder, while wearing said item. This is also the FASTEST way to attract sharks, as urine is an electrolyte, and cause changes in the electrical feilds surrounding one...something sharks are especially sensitive to.

The number one killer, not unexpectedly, turns out to be petrol, which some jet-skiers have found to their cost (more fool they). Both petrol and Urea (the active constituent of urine) destroy Neoprene.

So if you see someone with the crotch "eaten out" of their wetsuit, you can be pretty sure they relieve themselves regularly while wearing it, without washing it out afterwards. LOL, the OBVIOUS solution(pardon the imagery) is a "crotch zip", butr few wetsuit manufactureers include 'em It also makes sex MUCH more exciting, especially oral sex for the girl.

I have access to a cooker, which I can borrow from a friend, which will cook a Lamb Roast to PERFECTION and the baked vegies one gets from it...tasty, melt in the mouth...<sigh>

So far, more productive than most...I have finished cleaning the two Sundials I cast the other night (ie: not "threw away" cast, but referring to molten metal), and will be putting the manganese bronze gnomons on them shortly.

I managed to get the local Uni to change my name BACK to the correct spelling, after they entered it wrongly on my course, LOL! A minor miracle, if you ask me!

Note: does anyone know of "markets" (meaning street market type thingies) in the Newcastle or Sydney areas where I can sell my Sundials? I'm looking for places where brain-dead Yuppies hang out (all right, ALL of them are that way!), so I can get a few hundred for 'em?

The sundials are pure copper and positively glow in the Sun, when polished, and - sorta like well domesticated chooks - Yuppies are attracted to bright things.

Hey Ozsteamer have you tried the Honeysuckle markets on the foreshore they might be the go if they are still going they have lots of organic food and natural things so that maybe be the go.The Maitland markets on first sunday of every month always get a big turn out . Also the market at the Rocks in Sydney have heard that they are good.
By the way thanks for the tips re wetsuits I'll remember then if my partner gets back into surfing and IRB racing.
Ladybird we couldn't get together without you so definitely has to be when your over this side of the country.
