I hope you dont plan to stay away to long from the thread,

Evening everyone......

I guess lots of other Melbournites are planning a four day weekend.....I have to work - one of my last weekend trips away for the year!

evening aussies :)

have just come back from an evening at the kids' school - a festival they do every year called 'kids 'r' us' - they had many activities, stalls, dances, stage acts, singing, etc., all organised and run by the kids.
nice though, what i saw of it (spent most of the time txting to a friend! lol)

i'm heading up to the lake tomorrow... to the ex's place. he needs some help with some repairs and stuff, so we go up there to lend a hand when needed.
(i should be more excited, but it means a weekend of work interspersed with cooking, so no real rest for me!)

hope everyone else has a nice, relaxed weekend planned

We'll be catching up with you tomorrow night when the clocks go forward for summer. Maybe then I'll be able to catch up with my daughter, in NZ there's been a 3 hour time difference since the beginning of October

I hated it when the kids were small, especially going forward. They had to catch a school bus at 7.30am which turned into 6.30am and they were getting up in the dark and couldn't sleep at night cos it was too light

I'm always wondering where that hour went when I look at the clock and see it's an hour later than it should be!

it was weird when i was in the army and just happened to be on guard (as happened a couple of times) when the clocks changed. depended upon the season as to whether or not it was a bonus! 3 hours on the gate at 3am? yuck...

i like the way the tassie govt tells us that by changing to daylight savings a month before everyone else, we're 'leading the rest of the country into daylight savings!'

LOL - not mentioning that NZ changes at the exact same time :D Not that I'm saying that NZ is part of Australia!
